Great Date Place...  4 Star Rating - Very good

The Grove at Farmer's Market has become a favorite hangout for my sweetie and I lately. It's a great date place, because you have the option of shopping, eating, catching a flick or just strolling down the Grove road hand in hand with your sweetie.
Its open air design and sidewalk cafes give you the feeling that you're not in the city anymore, rather somewhere outside the country. And while it can get a little crowded at times, it's still a fun place to hangout.

the grove  5 Star Rating - World class

this is one of my favorite places in los angeles. it has everything you could want, and has awesome food and stores. the market side has the best fudge and little stores with fun stuff, and the more commercial part is pretty and fun to walk outdoors while you shop.

fresh produce  4 Star Rating - Very good

fresh produce and fruits. Berries are usually very over priced no matter what time of the year it is. They have good deals on seasonal fruit but sometimes it gets very crowded because they have a food court.

a totally trendy spot!

well designed  4 Star Rating - Very good

The Grove is well designed -- it has a central area with a water display that is designed to attract people. It must have worked, because people naturally gravitate towards the water. On weekends, they have a local band come and play on the patch of grass in the middle -- it makes for a very festive atmosphere. It's fun to go and eat or look around there, as the Farmer's Market is right next to it, and has its own tasty attractions. The only problem with it however, is that for a mall, it actually doesn't have that many stores and the shopping is a little disappointing. It is often very crowded, as well.

One of my favorite spots in LA.  5 Star Rating - World class

I love this place. And it's a great place for shopping though crowded all the time. I love this place because you can shop in the air. It's not like Mall. It's a chain of boutiques along the street on both sides. There's also a big food court though it's too crowded and prices are somewhat high. There's a big movie theatre inside of the Groove.
It has always a new selection of movies.

A great outdoor shopping center  4 Star Rating - Very good

I love this outdoor shopping center. It's much more convenient than the Beverly Center with easy parking and a central location. It has your standard shops like Gap, J Crew, Abercrombie and Bath & Body Works. But also some rarer ones like Anthropologie and Lucky Brand. You can sit down and eat at one of their great restaurants or walk to the farmers market for some great counter-joint grub.

WE LOVE TO STROLL THRU THE NEW GROVE AT FARMERS MARKET. THE PARKING IS AMPLE (BUT CROWDED ON THE WEEKENDS). WE LOVE TO GO TO THE PACIFIC THEATRES THERE TO SIT IN THE STADIUM SEATING.

Outdoor Shopping Fun at the Grove  5 Star Rating - World class

When I heard they were building a shopping centger next to the Farmer's Market, my heart sank. As a lover of old Hollywood, I just knew the integrity of the old market wouldn't be preserved. But was I wrong! The old bleeds into the new seamlessly in this wonderful street of shopping reminiscent in spirit of Main Street at Disneyland. There is a trolley that runs down the center which has double decker seating and is always filled with families out for a good time. There are chi-chi shops and reasonable ones, a terrific Barnes and Noble bookstore, a fun Apple Store, a huge Pacific Theaters with ticket takers and ushers dressed up like the ushers of old Hollywood and a Nordstrom's Department store and Crate & Barrel, to name a few. And all leads right up to the old Farmer's Market with its stalls of foods from all over the world, filled with customers roaming from the old to the new. There is a fountain which "dances" to prerecorded music every so often. A terrific destination for visitors and residents

GREAT PLACE TO HANG OUT WITH FRIENDS  5 Star Rating - World class

This is the openair mall that is best to go to around any holiday. They decorate and have all kinds of things that go along with the holiday it is. It is like you are in a real town not a mall. I love it when local radio and tv stations do promos there and I can go there and sometimes win prizes. Every Xmas I go there when the carolers are out and me and my friends sit at an outside cafe and get in the holiday feeling.

PROS: It is beautiful, plent y of parking, great food places
CONS: The stores and the food places are expensive but I still go there.

Fantasy Land for the adult. This is a great fun place to check out. Also great for tourists. They have lots of cute restaurants where on a sunny day you can eat outside and people watch. They have a cute fountain and at night they do a little water show. A trolley can take up down the whole Grove. There is a Nordstroms and other great clothing stores. Farmer's market is located on the same strip.

I'm not a compulsive shopper or anything, but if I had to pick a place to shop, it'd be The Grove.

The Grove is half shopping mall, half amusement park. It's got a really cool trolley that you can hop on and ride between shops, and a hypnotic fountain with jets that shoot water in sync with whatever music is playing (think The Bellagio on a slightly smaller scale). There's a movie theater, an Apple Store, Barnes & Noble, Victoria's Secret, and it's all right next to a great Farmer's Market.

Highly recommended, and parking isn't too bad.

Going to the Grove/Farmer's Market is a real treat. I'll warn you first: located in the heart of the city, traffic in the area can be a problem, and parking is pricey. But the Grove is beautiful, filled with stores I can't afford to shop at and restaurants I can't afford to eat at. This is definitely a place to take a date. You can visit one of the numerous restaurants, walk around, and enjoy the fountains and ambiance. The Grove is right next to the best permanent farmer's market in the city, which you can check out while you're there. I think the farmer's market is actually more interesting than the Grove.
