9/22/2010 I have 2 kids, one 5 yr old son & a 8 months old daughter, both of whom used to be his patients until today.

1st * goes to Dr. G- his experience & expertise in his knowledge, & more importantly his friendliness and understanding towards his patients as well as to their parents.

The 2nd *- Monica his nurse, gentle, kind & understanding! Shots without pain!

All the missing stars are the results caused by his lead staff, or known to some, his wife.

1. I moved out of RWC right before my son was born, and for the baby's 1st appt, I was late miscalculating the time and given no experience in knowing how long to get ready with your first child. I got there late, & I was received with her yelling at me for a whole 10 mins which I was nearly in tears which I will never forget.

2. My son return to their office as a walk-in to show them the TB test results (originally performed on a Friday but return on Monday by law to be seen visually by physician) with my husband. While they were at the office reception, his wife tried to "read" the results on my son's arm. There was no reaction from the TB test shown on his arm when she INSISTED that he is positive on the results. It was not until Dr. Greenspan come out of his appointment when he announced that it was a negative reaction before case is settled. AND she still wants to charge it as an office visit when luckily Dr. Greenspan has instructed her there is no need for the charge as they didn't even go into the room.

3. My daughter who was then about 2-3 months old started to gag/throw up and I called the office to inquire about the situation. The wonderful lead nurse inquires about my nursing habits and as I informed her of my pattern, she told me I am feeding her too much. Luckily, I had a appt with Dr. Greenspan within a couple of days and I inquire the same question with him with the understanding that I told him of the same nursing pattern that I told his wife. He was VERY PLEASED with my nursing as my baby was in the 90th percentile for weight and height at the time, he just said that some babies do throwup and gag more than others and guide us how to watch it and take care of it more closely.

4. For a long time, they usually leave reminder telephone messages that if you can't make the appt pls call to cancel, and no fees for cancellation or no show as far as I know. A few months ago, they left a message saying that pls call to confirm your appt and if you don't call, it will be treated as cancelled. There was no prior notification of the policy change and luckily I do listen fully to the whole message. And after that, I don't receive any other similar reminder messages again, not sure if policy has changed or cancelled. While I do understand that it is not good for business, when policies are rolled out, it should be carefully thought out and be executed in consistency?! If they really want people to be hold responsible there are a lot of medical offices that require 24 hr cancellation notification otherwise no show fee will be charged. Perhaps they can adopt that and send out mail to alert their clients in advance as a courtesy first and not just a phone call?

And the incident that lead to this review:

Last Friday I had to take my 8 mths old girl in for her flu shot. I ask if the shot outside as she was scared to go inside the room. The lead nurse snaps & said no in a loud & condescending voice. I then tried to ask if Monica is here. She says yes Monica is here but I AM IN CHARGE OVER HERE really loudly.... When I was led into the room by Monica for my daughter to be given the shot, behind close doors I shared personal comments to Monica. When the shot was done, she came running into the room saying it is a liability for us to have the shots done outside of the office. Today I received a ntc that Dr. G dismisses us due to offensive comments to his staff. First of all, my comments are behind close doors, I have full trust in Monica as I have more than once share my comments with her about the lead nurse for one, which leads me to strongly believe that someone has eavesdrop on our conversation while we were close doors which is unethical both on a personal & a professional level. Second of all, if she has presented to me the reason in a calm tone in the very first place instead of telling me she rules the office, I think I would not have been as upset with her.

For those that want Dr. G's experience & skills, be sure to avoid interacting with Mrs. stick w Mon. Accept Mrs. doesn't know how to smile/have any etiquette/people skills. She will tell you she is a nurse but be caution she has not been acive practice for ? and unreliable med advice. Not worth it.

My girls (3) have been patience of Dr. Greenspan for 16 years and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Greenspan, his wife Cheryl and his staff. My girls were never afraid to go to the doctors. Dr. Greenspan's humor and magic kept the girls calm and unaware of a "doctor's office" atmosphere. Cheryl always made sure the girls were comfortable and smiling, charts and shots up to date. Cheryl was a blessing when we had an illness in the family.I just love the Greenspan's office and staff!

My son was one of Dr. Greenspan's first patients and it was so exciting when our son was born and both Dr. Greenspan and his wife, Cheryl, were there to bring him into the world. (Cheryl worked at Sequoia at the time). He has always been very caring, patient, understanding! His staff is very good and caring. Dr. Greenspan is very special and you really want someone like him when you are looking for someone to take care of your most precious child and give him/her the best care possible. He is an excellent physician and I trust him completely.

This is an outstanding Pediatric practice with three doctors on staff. They are excellent for first time parents and help with the transition/new experience of having a baby. Dr. Greenspan performs circumcisions if necessary.
The practice usually has plenty of appointments for both well and sick visits. They have also provided at times free samples of Baby Formula and other small items.

The only detractor is the office administrator rules with an iron first and is not very pleasant.
