4 Stars: Neat little store (by BigDrew)

Good place to browse the shelves for books, especially if you like independent book stores. I wish they had a wider selection, other than that, it's a neat little place to visit.

5 Stars: 1st rate pub (by seattlenews)

I can't say enough about this pub, it's like the west village meets the northwest...LOVE IT. AMAZING Sitka Spruce carved tables all salvaged from recycled old growth, NOT CUT FRESH. Meticulous when it comes to details,... and the lighting. .... let's just say EVERYONE LOOKS GOOD. Brand new construction, amazing staff, funky cool neighborhood, oh.. to boot, there's a coffee shop/bookstore in the same building, it's like a whole afternoon in one building. Forgive the structure of my sentences and placement of commas, just go and you'll have a new favorite pub. ... period.

2 Stars: Noisy Store (by Michelle P.)

I know that a lot of people are big fans of this store, but I am not. It always seems very noisy when I am there. There is a food court inside the store and it seems to create a lot of noise and funny smells that I do not enjoy when I am book hunting. The middle of the store opens to a stairway leading downstairs to a shopping area. Overall I find the store dark, uncomfortable and noisy. I do not recommend this store.

4 Stars: A great place to relax and unwind (by Jessica J.)

This locally owned bookstore really has it all. A cozy
fireplace with lots of comfortable seating; a great bakery cafe with good things to eat. - Honey Bear Cafe. Free WiFi access is available in case you actually want to work. Best of all, Third Place has a great selection of both new and used books. This is a great place to pick up used children's books as well. The prices are very good and they always have interesting "featured" books at the front of the store. Parking is a breeze in the on site parking lot.

4 Stars: should maybe be second place books...? (by Todd B.)

maybe they are modest to a fault, maybe they just don't have the self esteem of the bigger, badder bookstores, but third place is a wonderful little store and a great opportunity to support local business.

PROS: locally owned
CONS:

4 Stars: Books, wifi, and coffee! (by P. S.)

Their name says it all. This is a great 'third place.' They have a fireplace with lots of comfortable seating; a great bakery cafe with good things to eat. And, they even have free WiFi access so you can bring your computer and do some work. Oh, and they also happen to have a great selection of books- used and new. Great prices. Friendly staff. And, it's in a great location; very convenient to the neighborhood. The other branch in Lake Forest Park is even bigger and better.

PROS: WiFi, fireplace, open mic night
CONS:

4 Stars: Nice local bookstore and also a great spot to hang out in (by Peter H.)

Third Place has two branches, this is the newer and smaller store, in the Ravenna neighborhood. While a small, independent bookstore, they have a very good selection, and you can find some good deals - they have both new and used books side by side on the shelves. They feature a good selection of funky gifts and cards, and the back third of the store is a HoneyBear Bakery and Coffee shop. Lots of seating, including some sofas around a gas fireplace, and Internet access complete what is a neighborhood anchor. You'll see lots of groups having coffee meetings here, and there are events at night.

PROS: Good selection and prices. Great ambiance for reading with a cup of coffee and a cookie!
CONS: Not much to speak of. You won't find the same selection as Barnes and Noble.

4 Stars: Used & New (by Laura H.)

Another great independent bookstore of Seattle, Third Place has the best prices in town. Selling both used and new books side-by-side, there is great selection and availability of all kinds of books. There are two locationsBallinger Commons and downtown. While the Ballinger Commons store is bigger, has more selection and shares a building with both the SCC campus and a great bakery, the location is inconvenient for most Seattle residents.

5 Stars: (by Beth H.)

Third Place Books in Ravenna is a great place to go and relax. With the Honey Bear Cafe in the rear of the store serving up steaming coffee and yummy cookies, it's easy to wander the shelves, find a plush chair to sit in, and disappear into a book for while. Not only do they have a great selection of books, but they also bring in readers and host open mike nights.
