An urban retreat

by Kristen M.

I was quite excited to spend a whole day experiencing Spa Nordstrom. I have always loved everything Nordstrom, and figured this should exceed my expectations. Each treatment was wonderful, with personal and attentive service coupled with very clean, relaxing, and tranquil surroundings. I found the staff very friendly and helpful and the 7.5 hour day that I spent there was worth the price! I recommend the "Spa Sanctuary." I think their prices are pretty comparable with other big spas. The only disappointment was that at the end of the day I wanted a shower, to do my hair, and some time to dress. Instead, my day ended dressing in a dark treatment room and was never invited to shower or use the powder room that my friend discovered.

Skin Care Professionals-Very nice

by Dina M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,072

I had a very nice experience at Spa Nordstrom with my aesthetician who had over 20 years working for the same spa, and you must book ahead! Nordstrom's being Nordstrom's-has carried on well, even into the spa arena. Exceptional personal service, a beautiful waiting room, they insist upon quiet and stillness as they go to work. I was educated in a very articulate way, as in the direction I must go to see they effects that I wanted for my skin . And more. They sell great aftercare products and there is no pitch, only recommendations. I was very happy as I left.
And do not forget your wallet, ahem...

it's ok

by Kris S.

I was excited to go to the spa and get my treatments. The facial was great (though i did break out a couple of days after!) and i felt pressured to buy products who had lined up a whole line of who-knows-what products for my face. I've had facials before but never felt that much pressure from anyone. The front desk staff was chatty with one another and did not give me any recognition when i was ready to pay for my services. The experience was somewhat disturbing and did not live up to my expectations.

PROS: quite, candle lit, relaxing
CONS: sales pressure, chatty and loud staff

Tied for Best Spa with Ummelina's..

by Jennifer S. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,789

in my book, anyway. I always ask for Spa Nordstrom gift certificates for my birthday and other occasions. It's expensive here, but I can justify it once in awhile when I really want to treat myself. The treatment rooms here are great. Roomy, quiet, and candelit. There are two waiting ares in the Spa. There's the first one you see when you check-in, then there's the one back with the treatment rooms, where you get to go once you've changed into your robe and slippers. I love that they offer fruit smoothie-type drinks and tea. The best brow shaper in town is here: Parvin. She's amazing. What I don't like about this spa is that there is a lot of sales pressure (it's Nordstrom: they're still on commission, even in the spa!) and a lot of the time the women working at the reception desk have a lot of attitude. If you want to buy a great gift for someone, or truly pamper yourself, this would be the place to go.

Very good spa, strange setting

by Ray A. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,785

Although I may have been getting unusual treatment, I found the business meeting room setting where I got my facial a bit strange. I was taken behind a room divider where there was a cushy seat. The aesthetician was great and the facial was very good, but the place was not condusive to relaxation, rather it made me want to call my boss.

Another Great Spa

by P. M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,994

I've been to the Nordstrom spa a few times, and the very first time they screwed up the booking and my massage therapist was not working that day. They went over and above to make it up to me, including offering a free service another day - typical Nordstrom's customer service. The facilities are top notch, and the staff is friendly and professional. A great choice!

Worth the drive and the price!

by Elisa W. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,947

This is what you'd expect from Nordstrom - HIGH Quality! I had an hour-long massage when I was 9 months pregnant and felt more relaxed and comfortable than I had felt in months! The massage therapist was so sensitive to my 'condition' and was able to use pillows and forms to position me so I was able to relax and get the full benefits of the massage. I highly recomend this for any pregnant woman!

simply the best

by Nickie R. | insider Insider | Rank: 28,907

Worth every penny! I received a pregnancy massage as a gift and I now recommend them to every pregnant woman I know. The massage therapist knew exactly the limitations of my body and was equipped with various pillows and foam padding to make me more comfortable. Incredibly, she was able to make me feel like I wasn't even pregnant. On another visit I received a manicure/pedicure. Again the extremely professional and friendly staff really surpassed my expectations. From beginning to end these have been among the happiest and most relaxing days in my life. Too bad every Nordstrom doesn't have one of these.

PROS: Friendly, professional staff
CONS: location

A great place to send the miss

by Richard A. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,680

You want to get on the good side of a loved one this is a good choice. The name says it all and it means quility. The price is very steep but again the name says it all. They use only the very best products Lancomb Este Channel you name it from the top shelf of care products they use it. The decor is relaxing.

I think this is the best Spa in Seattle. Of course Nordstrom is known for its customer service and high quality, and this place delivers. They have massage, body wraps, baths, facials, waxing, nail services, and all of it is great. Beautiful treatment rooms, nice and tranquil surroundings. Very elegant and soothing. Make a day of it!
