Embarcadero Center Cinema

This theatre always has an amazing number of indie films and foreign films that are never in the mass theatres. The price is about the same as anywhere else. I originally saw Lost in Translation there before its wide release. Story of the Weeping Camel a couple years ago. I highly recommend the place. The sound is not great but you will get over it

I like going to the Embarcadero Cinema because of the eclectic selection of movies shown. They are not block-busters, they are not the hollywood crapola shown in regular theaters. These are indie and foreign movies that may not please the action-blonde-bombshell movie consumers, and that keeps the tourists of the area at arm's length. Another plus.

I really like this theatre...I'm not a fan of crowded theatres and the one has alot of spacious seating and good selection of movies. last time I went the staff was very nice and after a ticket mix up they even went out of thier way and gave me a free popcorn...good experience!!

The theatre for sophisticated film buffs. They show first-run indie, art, and foreign films. On some nights there's a "prize fairy" that gives out prizes to people who correctly answer trivia questions. They have an email newsletter that has film showings and email contests. The screening rooms aren't spectacular, but they're decent.
