Who's Idea Was It To Add More Traffic To Downtown?
Petco Park become the official home of the San Diego Padres, when they stopped playing at Qualcomm stadium. I was bummed, as I am a few minutes from Qualcomm stadium, and loved the convenience of the old ballpark. The new ballpark, Petco Park is in the middle of the busiest part of San Diegodowntown. Whoever had the not so brilliant idea to put a ballpark in a place where there is already a traffic nightmare, only add a little bit of parking, and add no new roads is beyond me. Despite that, Petco Park is a brilliantly designed ballpark that is a gem to the downtown area, boosts revenue among local businesses, and really has become an asset to San Diego. Parking is a nightmare, and if you can, take the bus, or take the trolley. There is a trolley stop so close to the ballpark, that there is no sense in paying the ridiculous parking cost at the ballpark anyway. The ballpark has everything you would expect to find at a ballpark including high priced food and drinks, delicious ice cream, hot dogs, and all that other good stuff you have enjoyed for ballgames for years. The concession lines are not too bad, if you hit them at the right point before, or during a game, definitely don't try to hit them immediately after the game, instead rush for the parking lot, as early as possible and try to get out of it. The ticket prices are affordable enough that you can take the entire family. The souvenirs are over priced, and if you really want something, check on E Bay before you buy because it's a whole lot cheaper. There are great places for corporate events, a lovely picnic area, and the overall scene is just breathtaking. If it's your first time going to Petco Park, get there a little bit early, because you will definitely want to explore, find your seat, and go to the bathroom before the huge crowd arrives. Overall, it's a great ballpark, and the Padres seem to be comfortable in their new home.
PROS: Breathtaking ballpark. Wonderful place to take the family.
CONS: Parking is way too expensive, not enough parking, take the trolley!

Petco Park
This is such a nice sports stadium. Recently built and home of the San Diego Padres, everything is so high tech and up to date. Not only is it a great place to watch baseball games, but it is also a great place for other events that they have. You have to pay for parking, if not at the stadium, then on the surrounding streets. It is in the middle of Downtown San Diego, so after seeing a game, you can head into the streets.

Great park
Home to the San Diego Padres, Petco Park was only recently built and looks it. It is still very clean and comfortable. As any typical baseball field, there can be a lot of traffic around game times but just be sure to take the trolley or go early and you can avoid all of that. Parking can get as expensive as $12 (close to the price of the ticket!). From any part of the field, even the really cheap seats, the view is really good!! I got some $15 tickets and the view was really good; the players weren't little miniature figures. The huge screen helps as well. A very attendance-friendly ballpark.

Neat concept of a baseball stadium
As you can probably guess by the name, Petco Park is probably the most pet-friendly basball stadium you will ever experience. Case in point, you can give your pooch a bath or take him or her for a walk inside the stadium before the game starts. I'm not sure if pets are actually allowed in the seats, but that might be pushing it.

Great park
I watched this place got built from old buildings into the awesome ball park that it is now. It is huge and in a great location, at the heart of downtown San Diego. Parking is pretty hard to find though, so catch the trolley instead. Come a couple of hours before the game starts and maybe catch a bite at nearby restaurants to avoid the crowd and so you wouldn't feel the need to buy overly priced hotdogs.

PETCO park is HUGe and a great place for baseball. There are seats for the padres games that are really cheap and yet still hold the air of being at a baseball game with the experience and view. it is new and great.

ballpark
The ballpark is really confusing! It is really nice looking but way to complicated. The seating is numbered wierd so it makes it extremely diffacult to find your seat. But it is a lot of fun for all kinds of people whether it be a family outing or a night out for friends.

Enjoy your summer nights at Petco Park
Petco Park was a major undertaking in San Diego. Finely finished in 2004, this new baseball park is outstanding. Not only is it huge with family friendly seating, the park tried to keep a lot of it's downtown original charm. Being downtown, parking can be a premium, but no problem. Take the SD trolley down. It drops you off right across the street from the park.
Petco Park is a welcome addition to downtown. Many places to walk to before game time to eat or drink. The park offers many restaurants within the stadium, and they are all good.

GO Padres
The location of this new baseball stadium is perfect! If you live in San Diego I'm sure you watched the stadium go up and if you haven't been yet you really need to experience it. It is so much better than the old stadium. I have not found a bad seat and prices are not bad. They offer packages and other deals that are really good. The food is great, it's pricey but what ballpark doesn't have expensive food!! Parking is average - but if you are use to downtown you know the drill. Even if you are visiting this is higly recommended. Grab a bite to eat in the gas lamp and then go on over to the stadium to watch a game.

Beautiful new park
The new home of the Padres is a beautiful baseball park with all of the ammenities of a modern stadium. In addition to some really nice (and comfortable seating), there isn't a bad seat in the house. There are tons of restrooms, concession stands and extra-wide corridors that keep things from getting too crowded even on the busiest of days. Now, if only the Padres can live up to their stadium...

World Class Park
Petco park might just be the best ballpark in the US. The location is incredible, and right in the center of downtown San Diego. The layout is excellent and there isn't a bad seat in the house. The food is terrific and much better than most ballpark foos.. It is also easily accessible with a wide variety of parking options.

Great baseball park
Petco park is the best place to goto if you want to see a nice baseball park. Although the food there is always very good, it is very expensive. Also you get to see the best team in baseball, the padres.

New Padres Stadium
This new state of the art stadium serves the Padres well. It has tons of seating, plus food stands galore that even cater to vegetarians. Yes, you heard me right, the famous ball park hot dogs without meat. What can be better than sitting back and enjoying the game with a nice cold freshly sqeezed lemonade, some snacks, and a few home runs. Beware, however, of where you sit. There are a few locations, like up high past third base, where the view is obstructed.
PROS: Brand new high-tech stadium where there is no limit to what you may see.
CONS: Some of the seats are not good.

Love the new ball park
Petco Park is a beautiful new ball park for the Padres. This is much better than Qualcolm. The cost of the seats are not bad at all. Every seat in the park is great. The food is expensive but you can bring in food, so that's a plus.

Take m eout to the ball game
Located in downtown san diego the padres new home is a beautiful stadium with loud speakers and packed parking. Try to park on the street a few blocks away to save a $10. Otherwise be prepared to pay a hefty fee. The music is loud, which I suppose is part of baseball now, but true fans might find it hard to talk over the blaring music. Overall a beautiful location.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game
This new park is beautiful! Overall it is well staffed and hosts wonderful baseball games. My only qualm with this stadium is that the park and bleecher seats have a limited view of the field. If you're going to socalize with a group, the park seats are great. I love the environment out there, but you're basically paying $5 to watch the game with friends in a park on a big screen because you can't see any of the action. Some of the bleecher seats provide a limited view of the field as well. It's unfortunate that such a new and lovely park has a fair number of seats without a good view. So, if you really want to get in on the action and have a nice view, you'll have to pay a few extra bucks for better seats. One of the best offers there is the kids meal. About $2.50 for a hot dog, fruit roll up, and small (not kid size small) beverage. It's quite a deal!

A Great Stadium
Petco Park is a great place to watch a baseball game. The seats are wide and they are angled towards the playing field. The food is alright, but the stadium is in the middle of downtown so there is plenty of cheap places to eat around the area. There is plenty of parking, but the close lots are expensive.

very nice with an excellent team.
After going to Qualcomm stadium for years, it is nice that the San Diego Padres finally have their own baseball stadium. Seating is excellent wherever you sit and it is extremely nice inside.

100% Baseball
Finally, the Padres have their own stadium. It was well worth the wait. It is in an outstanding location downtown, with lots of stuff to do around the area. The park is pristine, and makes it the best place to watch baseball in the entire country.

Park
Petco is a great place for family. You can enjoy a Padres game over a nice cold one, or enjoy the game over a variety of snacks from hotdogs, to popcorn, to even cotton candy. The kids enjoy the atmosphere and you can enjoy the game. Even when just walking around the park, you get a feeling of greatness.

Petco Park
This is a nice stadium, although there is nothing special about it. It is a stadium for only baseball though, so it is better to watch a baseball game there than perhaps some where else. I do not suggest trying to drive there though because it is in Down Town it would be a much better idea to take the trolly.

Petco Park
Petco park is the great new downtown ballpark and home of the Padres. It has a great feel for baseball, you feel as though you are right next to the players. It is perfect for all sorts of fun experiences. The only problem with Petco Park is finding parking, or paying for it.
PROS: Great ballpark
CONS: No parking

Awesome! A great place to go with your friends or take a date. Although beer, food, um, everything is expensive here, the seats aren't too bad - you can pay anywhere from $5 just to get in the park to $40 for a fancy field box. I would suggest sitting with the masses - its more fun. They did a beautiful job with this ball park downtown with restaraunts and bars inside, and a great overlook of the city. Its fun even if the home baseball team, well, isn't that great... A suggestion: take the trolley down, the traffic can be a nightmare on the 163, and both parking and cab rides are very expensive.
