4 Stars: Yerba Buena (by Carol Q.)

This is a great place to learn about contemporary art. We always get so wrapped up in old fashioned art that we forget about new and innovative ideas. This is the place to go for a new style of art. It is a great place to hand out and browse for all different kinds if artwork, not just paintings. Check it out if you already haven't. Its a great experience

4 Stars: Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (by Michael S.)

The Yerba Buena Center for the Arts is a great place to go to browse contemporary art. It is located in a very contemporary style building as well. They have exhibitions for visual art, film and video. The also have performing arts in dance, music and theater. I actually like it better than San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

5 Stars: Yerba Buena (by brian l.)

I usually don't like museums but this place is great. They have so much stuff to check out. Great environment and friendly people checking it out too. Can't wait to check it out again. Only thing is that it's hard to find parking (where isn't in S.F.). So take the bus or something and enjoy yourself. A+.

5 Stars: great (by Shaun R.)

I had to go to this museum to write a couple of midterms for my schoolo and I really enjoyed it! The shows they have there are continually breathtaking. It is a little difficult to find if you're not too familiar with San francisco. Definately some pieces of art in there that are worth seeing!

5 Stars: Perfect and contemporary (by Sandy H.)

Yerba Buena Of the Arts is a great place to visit in San Francisco. If you are into comtemporay work and imagination, then this is the place for you. It offers more exposure for younger artists that have different expressions. Its creative and fun. It is much cheaper than its counterpart musuems. Parking is a bit difficult, but its close to public transportation/ Highly recommended

5 Stars: Better than SFMOMA (by Ned M.)

This modenr art museum is right next to SFMOMA and makes a great alternative. It's cheaper. The art is more current and relevant. The beautiful losers exhibit was a wonderful exhibition of art with a DIY hip-hop style. Many exhibits are free and the openign parties are always a blast. Oh, and the gardens are gorgeous. Check this out.

4 Stars: Point Counterpoint (by Annie P.)

The Yerba Buena Center for the Arts is located across from the SFMOMA, and offers refuge and display space for younger artists and performing arts groups that are a little too much on the fringe to hang in SFMOMA or dance at the usual ballet houses. The Yerba Buena Center has the advantage of taking more liberties, and in the past six months, has really done an incredible job of bringing in fresh talent and with its recent outsider art exhibit, even questioning traditional art historical perspectives.

5 Stars: Diverse, eclectic and unique shows and screenings (by d. nicole t.)

I have never been disappointed by the variety and broad scope the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts offers to not only its members and patrons, but to the artists who actually show there. I've seen Kronos Quartet, gone to an electronic music art installation/showing, saw "101 Days of Sodom" and a lovely modern Russian ballet. Not to mention the park, the MLK waterfall and the modern architecture of the place. Love it.

3 Stars: A nice afternoon of culture (by Alex B.)

Beside the cheap art performances and variety of differing culture shows they put on the back of the Yerba Buena center has a nice garden area with alot of sculptures. I used to sit out there on ice sunny days and have my picnic lunch. It seems to be isolated from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area and sometimes they have a street artist performing.

It is located in the downtown area of Sanfrancisco the Sony Metreon is close by.

4 Stars: (by Mariko C.)

They always have a great contemporary arts show in addition to live art programs. They are very cheap, so check their website for free and half-price days. Their parties are always worth checking out and worth getting a membership for.
