Parkway Theater

The parkway is a super fun place to watch a movie. The theatre is laid out with couches and seats. They deliver pizza and drinks right to you as the movie starts up. No need to wait in lines. The patrons are a fun group as well. I highly recommend for a weekend night... or any night for that matter

Probably the best time I've had at the movies was here - and why not? When you've got pizza, drinks, bowls of hot popcorn and HUGE & COMFY couches to sink into while you watch the movie ... it's a memorable experience...it's like being at home!!

If you like like pizza and beer along with a good movie then Parkway theater is the place for you! They have some good pizza dishes and a good selection of drinks. The movies are pretty limited but who can complain when you have all the necesities? Service is great!

This is a movie theatre/bar/pizza place. What can I say more? This is the place to enjoy a good movie and relax while you eat pizza and chug down a beer. The service is great and friendly so is the crowd. The prices are reasonable for a night out also.

Their tagline says it all. Doesn't it always seem that the movie times fall right when you want a bite to eat? You see a 6:30 movie and you end up having popcorn for dinner. But that's not the case here, because you can see a first run movie for $5.00 (yep), and get dinner too.

Insider tip - go on Wednesday night with a friend and you both get in for $5.00.

Where else can you view a super random movie, while you eat your pizza and drink beer. I think all movie theatre's should have the option of alcohol. Plus they still do the rocky Horrer Picture Show, which isn't for me but , it's a tradition and I'm glad they have it.

The Parkway Theater is a unique movie theater in Oakland. You can snuggle up with your significant other on a couch or sit comfortably in one of the lounge chairs. Or sit at one of their tables with chairs around them. You can order a pitcher of beer and pizza for a truly enjoyable movie experience. They have two screens, but only the downstairs, which is larger, offers couch seats. The owners create hilarious video intoductions for the shows, which are ususally (good) second run movies and art films. Parking can be a little difficult so plan to arrive early.

Parkway presents second run and art movies, pub food and beer or wine in a comfortable, home like setting.

The pizza, sandwiches and salads are standard pub fair, fairly priced, made to order and pretty good. The movies are fairly priced, and there are two for one deals on Wednesdays. Generally they only allow adults over 21, but Mondays the Baby Brigade allows in lap babies for free and there are family days as well. Get there early to secure a couch, or you'll send up in IKEA rocking chairs in the back.

Everyone loves this place, I don't know if it's just the beer and pizza and couches, maybe it's the eclectic and lively programming with an emphasis on special events...Whether it's recent hollywood flix, old blaxploitation, the edgiest in animation, short films featuring emerging filmmakers or just fun classix like the Rocky Horror Picture Show with a live cast. The Parkway has fun events for the whole family.
