Before I went to Mon Amie Bridal, I went to tons of other top rated shops scattered all over southern cal. My experiences at the other stores or boutiques varied from mediocre to terrible. Needless to say, I didn't have very high hopes on my first visit here. I had already tried on over 40 dresses and was getting frustrated. I thought I would never find my dream dress! However the moment I stepped into Mon Amie I knew things would be different. I was greeted with warm smiles, and a lady who seemed sincerely happy to be helping me find my dress. I guess it was third times the charm because I tried on a few different dresses before I found the one. I brought my mom back the next day to find her with tears agree with me that I had found the dress. I am so grateful to have come into your shop; my wedding would not have been complete without your help!

Before hearing about Mon Amie, I visited several other bridal salons and couldnt find the dress or the customer service I was seeking. A friend told me about Mon Amie and your wide selection of gowns. From my very first visit through my final fitting, the customer service was top notch and the quality of the products and services were very impressive. I found the perfect gown and felt great knowing that I was buying it from a local Orange County business. Melanie and Nancy were especially thoughtful.

We met back in the dressing room, me with my flowy dresses and Natalie with her more fitted and tailored dresses. I began by trying her choices on. The first one was out for sure. The second one, a mermaid cut, low back, sweetheart neckline, strapless with an AMAZING asymmetrical couture bow on the back, took our breaths away. Wow. Natalie knew what she was doing. She said, the minute I see a girl, I know the dress for her. We were sold! Mon Amie is so incredibly professional and they really know what they are doing. They have so many choices when it comes to gowns and veils. I don't know what I would have done without them.

Don't use their alterations service!!
Nice customer service but I do not recommend getting alterations at this salon. Very last minute and too many dresses flow through this shop for them to pay attention to details. They did not finish my bustle which was only discovered at my reception!

I went to Mon Amie because their selection is incredible and they carry plus sized dresses to try on which I could not find at any of the 6 other stores I went to. My first experience was actually very nice. Heidi, my sales person, was very sweet and helpful, not pushy at all. I feel in love with a dress and searched high and low to find it somewhere else. I could not find it without leaving the state so I decided to try my luck with Mon Amie, even after hearing less than stellar reviews. This was a huge mistake. From the moment I purchased the dress, my family and I were treated with little to no respect or courtesy. I was told my dress would be in sometime in late December or early January. I called the second week of January when I hadn't heard yet and was told my dress was in and that someone had called me. I never received that call but let it slide. I made an appointment to have it "presented" to me. The woman on the phone told me to bring all my accessories as they would "let me know if everything matched" and help me pick out more. Apparently I can't choose things to match my own wedding dress in their minds, including the veil I purchased there. I then received a call the next day letting me know my dress was in and to set up an appointment. Excellent communication clearly.
I received a phone call a few weeks later as a reminder for my "presentation" appointment. They quoted me the wrong name, date and time. This happened for every single reminder phone call I received, with a different name each time.
When I went for my first fitting the problems really began. I had been quoted between $400-$500 for alterations. I went for my fitting and was quoted $700 for alterations, including 28 bustles. Now, I did need it taken in a small amount as well as hemmed and it had a lace overlay with detail and beads... but $700 seemed ridiculous, as did 28 bustles. I was told this was the only way to bustle the dress. The seamstress that helped me kept telling me about every alteration "this is the only way it can be done." Even the woman who set up my next appointment was shocked at the price and told me "you must be having a lot of custom work done." I was having none. On the way home I decided I was getting ripped off and called back to see if I could take the dress somewhere else to be altered. I WAS HUNG UP ON! I was then told I'd have to ask the manager. The manager told me to come in and we'd see what we could do to alter the price. She never answered my question. Instead she lead me to believe they were my only choice.
I came in and saw the head seamstress, a truly wonderful woman who found a way to bustle the dress with only 9 bustles, cutting $250 out of the alterations. She also agree to press the dress and veil for the price the first seamstress had quoted me, HALF the price she quoted me. Clearly, something fishy was going on here.I asked what else I could possibly be charged for. She told me that I'd only be charged if I drastically changed my appearance affecting the fit, such as losing or gaining weight. I was told I would work with her exclusively from now on.
I came in for my second/final fitting. The first seamstress was there again, still telling me that things could only be done one way, even if they'd already been done another way. The brought the head seamstress in who was happy to make the changes I requested, like bringing the top in just a tiny bit more. She then told me it didn't fit right because I obviously had lost a reasonable amount of weight. I had actually gained a few pounds and offered to provide proof of this to avoid being charged more. She did not find this funny. We agreed to have the top taken in and everything pressed and I'd be back in 2 weeks to pick it up, 2 days before my wedding.
I arrived to pick up my dress. They brought it out and lifted the large blue bag they store it in up so I could see it. All I could see were the wrinkles and strings everywhere. There were strings and beads hanging off all over it. They kept telling me the wrinkles would "fall right" once it was on my body. I asked them to repress it and trim the strings. They took it away and brought it back about 15 minutes later while I expressed my extraordinary dissatisfaction with the staff. They brought it back. I looked the same to me but they were clearly ready to rush me out of the store so we left.
I spent 20 minutes on the day of my wedding trimming strings and resewing beads to my dress. We rented a steamer which in 10 minutes took out a majority of the wrinkles in my "pressed" dress. I'm going to send this review to Mon Amie directly and ask for my money back for the alterations because no one should pay that much for that poor quality. It brought me to tears to see my beautiful dress so poorly cared for.
Please spare yourself the heartache and go anywhere else.

"I would like to thank Mon Amie for the memories of a lifetime. The moment I walked into Mon Amie I knew it was different from any other bridal place I've ever seen. It was Magical! Hundreds and hundreds of the most beautiful designer gowns. I came to find the one gown I was researching for a year. The "Celentina" from Justina Mccaffrey. I saw it and the sales associate Patricia told me this is your day! Justina Mccaffrey is here today! I was so excited, I only wanted to try on that gown. Justina came in to see how it was fitting, she even sketched a picture of me in the gown and signed it for me. We purchased the gown that day, I was so excited. Thank you again for all your professional service and magical memories. It was a great memory to bring my Mom in and watch her face when I put on the gown, she cried, and said "that is the gown." Thank you for your great service. Purchasing my Wedding Gown at Mon Amie was such a dream come true. Thank you. -Karla Frame"

"When I got engaged we were already on our way to look at the site where we ended up getting married. I had the guy, the ring, and the site, but what I didn't have was, in my mind the most important part, my dress. Now I live in L.A. County, CA, and my city has three local bridal stores, one is too small (and didn't carry the lines of dresses I wanted), one had no reputation at all, and the other has the worst reputation known to man. So, I decided to drive down to the O.C. and try out Mon Amie. Oh my goodness, my experience was amazing. The consultant who helped me find my dress was amazing too. Now, I am one of those girls who have been planning my wedding since I was 5, and I had a scrapbook of dresses that I liked. She looked at my book and brought me in dozens of beautiful gowns that all fit what I wanted, Ines di Santo, Justina McCaffry, etc. But when I tried on my Reem Acra gown, oh, it was perfect. I knew that when I walked down the isle the people in front of me would say "Oh, what a beautiful gown." BUT when I passed them and they saw the sheer back with the embroidery on it, they would say "WOW!" I wanted to have a dress that made a statement and left people speechless. And it did. I know that my aunt, my mother, and myself closed the store down that day. The best part was that not once did anyone mention that we were the last people there, we were given the best customer service ever. Then my seamstress was amazing. She was so sweet and kind. She made me look like I was 10 lbs. lighter in that dress. I am so grateful for my experience."

"I came to Mon Amie all the way from Montana to find my dream wedding dress! I was amazed at the selection of beautiful dresses and your customer service was excellent. Eddie was my bridal consultant and she was so patient and helpful. I think I tried on over 20 gowns, and finally chose the last one, but it was still not exactly perfect. With Eddie's creativeness we created my "Dream" wedding dress. I was then handed over to Kristy to help me with my fitting and all the little details. Being that I lived so far away, Kristy and I spent a lot of time on the phone. For months I would receive calls from Kristy weekly, updating me on the status of my dress. At times it was hard for me to be so far away and I had to rely on Kristy to make decisions for me, and she truly did an amazing job! When I finally received my dress and accessories, everything was PERFECT! Kristy was so sweet to me and I felt that she sincerely wanted everything to be perfect for me! Thank you so much to Eddie, Kristy, and all of you at Mon Amie who helped make my wedding the best day of my life!"

"I was one of lucky military brides that participated in the amazing military bride event that Mon Amie holds every year. It was 1 month before my wedding and I told my mom that we had to check out this event."

"The night before the big event, my fiance told me that he thought people might be camping over night...to get a dress. I thought he was absurd and I kind of brushed him off. As I sat there at 7pm the night before, the more i thought about it the more I got scared that I wouldn't get to participate. So I told my Mom and Dad that we should drive by just to get a peek. As we pulled up there were about 30 girls with tents and sleeping bags out on the sidewalk. I was in shock!"

"When I awoke the next morning [in my sleeping bag] I saw that the line had increased and that it wrapped around the building until I couldn't see the end of the line. With each girl that left with her dress everybody let out a cheer... When I finally made it inside...I searched and searched through all the racks."

"The very first one that I tried on fit me like a glove. That was the one...the one that I would have pictures of for the rest of my life. The attendants were amazing and even in all the chaos it was a great experience and a wonderful thing that Mon Amie did."

"Thank you,

September 06, 2011

"My gown was definitely my favorite detail about that day. I loved going to try it on during the planning process and did at least 10 times at Mon Amie. Each time everyone treated me like it was my first time there! :-) Choosing the Ines di Santo Betti gown was a truly easy decision, which is really not like me as I am a very indecisive person. It was the first gown I tried on at Mon Amie and I really could not look at another gown without having that one pictured in my mind! It also shares the name Betti with my mom so it has an even more special meaning to me. She thought that was pretty funny too! :-)"

Finding the perfect wedding dress was easy at Mon Amie. All of the staff were incredibly helpful and insightful, they knew exactlly which dresses would look great on me, and isn't that what every girl wants on their wedding day? I was absolutley thrilled with the Lazaro dress, and I never would have found it on my own.I ended up completing my shopping at Mon Amie by finishing my look with the veil, shoes and garter, it was so easy to buy everything in one place. I even bought my Amsale bridesmaids dresses at Mon Amie too! Thank you again Mon Amie."And thank you again for everything

I cant say enough great things about Mon Amie Bridal Salon! I had been looking for my wedding gown for a while and had not found "The Dress". At Mon Amie, I found THE DRESS just five minutes after telling my bridal consultant, Melissa, what I was looking for. When she walked in the dressing room with the dress, I knew it was the one and my eyes light up. My dress was absolutely gorgeous and I cannot thank you enough!

You helped me pick out the perfect wedding gown and I wanted to share pictures of my big day with you. I just got married on June 26th, 2010 and I pruchased my Pronovias gown, bird cage veil and other veil from your store.

Thank you so much for all of your help. I have defintely sent several friends to you!!! My dress was absolutely the perfect dress for me and I am so grateful that you helped me pick it out.

Mon Amie has a large selection of elegant and sophisticated dresses. The staff are friendly and do their best to accommodate your budget. They do nickle and dime their way and will try to upsell you. The veils and jewelry are overpriced, and alterations and dry cleaning (charged seperately) are expensive. However, their dress selection is lovely.

I'm a tall girl (6'2") and selected a silk gown from Amy Michelson of which I actually had to hem.

July 21, 2010

I got my dress at Mon Amie bridal outlet and couldn't have been happier! They opened the outlet to brides for dresses off the rack at huge savings! My dress was perfect, and I felt like a princess. They did a perfect job on my alterations, were ontime with everything, and listened to me with all the changes I wanted done on the dress.

Thank you!

July 13, 2010

I purchased a Pronovias dress from Mon Amie off the rack. They cleaned it and repaired it to restore it to "new" quality before I started my fittings. What I liked is that I asked my salesperson not to bring me any dresses that were out of my price range so that I wouldn't be tempted to spend more than I could afford and she didn't. I absolutely loved my dress and it fit beautifully. They have a great selection and dresses in all price ranges.

Planning a wedding in my hometown of Houston while living in Los Angeles was no easy task. Thankfully, finding my perfect gown was not so difficult. After reading rave reviews on CitySearch, I decided to check out Mon Amie. The store happened to be having a trunk show for designer Ines di Santo, and luckily the designer's daughter was there to help guide my selections. When we found THE dress, I wanted to share the experience with my parents in Texas so the store owner kindly snapped and emailed photos to them. We bought the dress that day and it was smooth sailing from there. Thanks for all of your help!

January 11, 2010

I went to Mon Amie right after I got engaged, looking for that perfect dress. I brought my mother with me on this visit.

To start, this store runs like a factory and is all about making that sale (they all work on commission). They welcome you with a smile and try to put on that happy face so they can make you feel comfortable. The first turnoff I had was the rancid smell of mildew that came from the back of the store. I am not sure what it was but the several times I was there, the smell was too.

I looked throughout the store and tried on about 15 dresses. I came across one I really liked so I ended up and ended up purchasing it. I did not like how I was rushed at the mirror when I was showing my motherthe dress I liked on me. The gave me that hurry feel because the bride behind us wanted to look in the big mirror as well and was standing behind me impatiently ( I was only there several minutes before rushed off). The store should schedule their appointments better so that they have enough room for all of their brides to take their time and enjoy the "moment".

After waiting 5 months to receive the dress from being made, I came to my first fitting. They totally ordered my wedding dress 3 sizes too small! I could not even get it over my head! Needless to say, I was mortified and had to reorder the dress which took another 4.5 months to make and ship back. I was very disappointed in the way they treated me during this horrible event. I wanted a refund but they said the only thing they could do was use the credit towards another gown or reorder the same one. Plus they were not sympathetic at all given they measured me wrong (plus I had lost 10 lbs so Im not sure how they messed that up).

I ended up going to Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills where I found another dress and had the experience I was looking for. Their shop is absolutely beautiful and the customer service was outstanding (not to mention the store didnt smell like mildew like Mon Amie). They took their time with me and let me have my moment.

I ended up selling the dress I purchased from Mon Amie online at preownedweddingdresses for half the price but it was worth it in the end because I got the tearjerker experience I always wanted with finding the other dress at Saks.

Cons: Do not trust this store!

November 04, 2009

I would have gone here for my wedding gown shopping, but a friend of mine had the misfortune of going gown shopping here and finding out they remove the label's off their tags so brides don't even know what they are buying.

Someone should tell these people that if you pull a tag off a dress without replacing it with their own label they are breaking the law. But, honestly, even if you do replace it with your own label. It's still shady and dishonest at best.

I also find it pretty funny that most of the positive reviews are from people who haven't posted reviews for anything else on City Search. I guess the sales staff is writing reviews when they aren't trying to shove dresses down an unsuspecting bride's throat.

Pros: Large Selection

Cons: Dishonest

I got married to the love of my life just about 2 months ago. It was the very best day of my life. Even though those few little things fell threw the cracks, like they always do, my husband and I got through it together. We got married at the Long Beach Museum of Art, overlooking the ocean, on a clear day, at sunset. We could not have asked for a better day.

Andrew asked me to marry him in London just over a year ago, and that year went by fast! So many people to meet with, shops to look in, appointments to hold, food to taste, and addresses to get. But the first and easiest thing I did was find my dress. My mom, sister and I walked into your store, was greeted right away by a friendly associate, and I began to try on dresses. It did not take too long to figure out what shape I liked best on me, and the fact that the designer of the dresses I liked best was in the store that day to help, was a god send. He knew exactly what dresses to put on me, and even what color would work best in pictures! And he was right. I choose a Stephan Yearick gown in platinum and I could not have been happier with how it turned out. The seamstress did an amazing job making it fit perfectly to my body. The dress was easy to move around in, easy to sit in, and it looked so great next to my bridesmaids, who were wearing cranberry. I received so many compliments on it. Thank you so much for making that aspect of my wedding easy and uncomplicated.

They were late on the dress by 2 weeks (they set the date and assured me the dress would come in just in time for my wedding), and probably longer had I not started calling about my dress. I had abotu a 6 week window to get the dress, have it altered and walk down the aisle. I ordered a beautiful ivory on ivory dress, and I got an ivory on champagne dress. Basically my dreams of a slightly off white dress are dashed because I have to walk down the aisle in a what is basically a taupe dress.

Because they were late with the dress, and I had come in to pick it up at night (in a darker dressing room) I didn't see it was the wrong color. When I picked up my dress from being altered, it was still day time I noticed it was darker than I remembered. I checked the label and there it was, ivory on champagne.

I've called to complain, and will see what happens... I just find it galling that they make you sign all this stuff about how they hold you accountable for payment, not changing your mind (or pay a fee) alterations, etc. Yet they missed the deadline they set (on the dress and the veil) and delivered the wrong product. Where is their accountability?

Pros: Great buying experience

Cons: They were late, and I got the wrong color

I have been searching for my dream dress for months now with no luck. This past weekend I attended the trunk show at Mon Amie featuring amazing designer Amy Michelson and I FINALLY found my dress!! I got to meet the designer herself and she was wonderful!!! They listened to exactly what I wanted and I felt on top of the world when I found my dress. The designer even made me my own hand drawn original sketch! It was overall such an experience. My friends and mother felt welcomed too. I was able to find the accessories and shoes that matched beautifully with my dress! My consultant was amazing and I would recommend this experience to anyone. They have such a selection and the people are so nice. I love the fact that I could meet the actual designer of my dress too. Thank you so very much to Mon Amie and Amy Michelson!

I feel in love with a dress here and searched high and low to find it somewhere else. I could not find it without leaving the state so I decided to try my luck with Mon Amie, even after hearing less than stellar reviews. This was a huge mistake. From the moment I purchased the dress, my family and I were treated with little to no respect or courtesy.

Pros: Large selection and plus sizes

Cons: Poor customer service, overpriced, rude

Rave reviews for Mon Amie. Yes, they have a zillion dresses. Yes, they are the #1 place to go. I have to say, the CUSTOMER SERVICE was way above anything I would have expected. Went just to look and got sucked in by family pressure and bought a dress. On the ride home, had buyer's remorse and called begging them not to put the order through. They made room for me the next day (a very busy Saturday) to come back. And I found THE dress. Just went to pick it up today. The designer had misinterpreted the special instructions on the order (I could see how it may have gone either way). I was freaking out, but the manager, Kelly Goodridge, and the alterations guru, Esmy, saved the day. Not only are they making the corrections at no charge, but they are doing it in just 3 days. Catastrophe averted. Not only was everyone very nice, professional and calming - more important than you think - but the only thing that mattered to Kelly was that I received the dress exactly the way I envisioned it. They say that the wedding business is a racket, but the kind ladies at Mon Amie proved them wrong and really showed me 5 star service and I couldn't be more thankful!

Pros: Selection, 5-Star Customer Service

Cons: NONE!
