barney's beanery

i went here over the weekends with a few of my friends. it was incredibly busy- there were people everywhere! it is loud and fun. there is an array of different kinds of people. they have pool. if you wait a little while, you can grab a booth. it is a very loud place, but definately a good place to go with a group of friends.

Every time I go to Barney's Beanery, I remember how much I disliked it the last time and wonder to myself why I thought I should go back. The place is always crowded, usually with too-drunk frat boys and straight couples hanging all over each other (despite its West Hollywood location, the clientele is overwhelmingly straight). Although it's kind of fun to laugh at the fashion victims in boob shirts (girls) or sideways baseball caps (guys), the frat-boy atmosphere soon wears thin and neither the menu nor the tap selection can make up for it.

PROS: good beer selection, friendly staff
CONS: frat-boy crowd

I really like the laid-back casual atmosphere, BUT its always PACKED! the food is decent, they have a really huge menu, basically anything you can think to eat, they have it. The food isnt the healthiest but its good.. They have a full bar, lots of types of beers. Kind of a young fratty crowd.

Barney's Beanery has been in business for many year. It is a BLAST to go to... It is a Bar and Grille.. You never know what famous person you will run into there. Their food is great and reasonable especially for the neighborhood. The atmosphere is total KAOS which is amazing believe it or not. It moved here from No. Calif in the 20's, it was part of Route 66 and it has the history of Hollywood on it's walls.
