BAD NEWS ON FAIRFAX:

tThe one on N Fairfax has such a disfunctional manager--one who is rude abrasive loud obnoxious and insulting to customers that he borders on psychotic. Screaming and yelling around the store like a deranged bag lady. accusing customers of absurd and outrageous things. if he fixates on you, watch out! Wears glasses, beady eyes, slink when he walks, changes hair color once a week. TOTAL FREAK. MAJOR OCD. should be re-educated by management or discharged. Has Zero interpersonal skills.

You can buy clothes for cheap and they donate part of their income to charities. So it is all for a good cause. Everyone wins. I like to shop for cute shirts and jackets especially.

I love the name of this place. How creative. I have both donated and bought items from this place. The quality is good and the employees are friendly and they have a lot to choose from.

Out of the Closet Thrift stores are always winners, hands down. This one is one of the best I've been to though, with a large selection of clothes that for the most part didn't have strange odors. I found an entire outfit there that got plenty of compliments. Prices are reasonable too.

The newish Out of the Closet at Hollywood and Western is the best one I have been in - and not just because it's in my neighborhood. The clothes are great and they have a lot of designer stuff that somes through at prices that seem less than other sites I have seen. And you can park briefly in the parking lot nest to the building, too - or get there by the subway.

PROS: great stuff
CONS: Close early

What a wonderful little place, with great deals and nice things! They have a nack for picking up the unusual, the well preserved, and the stylish and fashionable. They are right in the heart of Hollywood, and you can dream that the clothes were once worn by the rich and famous. One of the most unusual aspects of this thrift store is that they advertise that on certain days you can be tested for HIV. In this particular area of Los Angeles, I think this is a really good thing. It offers an anonymous way to determine your health status.

This location is a little larger than many of the other locations in the LA area, and because it's located in Hollywood you're probably less likely to find goods found in your grandmother's home and a little more likely to find something from your hip neighbors in the condo next door.

Out of the Closet...is like an indoor yard sale! Very similar to Goodwill except maybe a little pickier in the merchandise they sell. A large selection of furniture and clothing for cheap...cheap! Save money...while supporting a good cause!

I always feel so great when I buy something from here because I'm not only getting something really cute (they have an AMAZING selection of items that people have donated) but I'm also helping a great cause (money is donated to fund aids research) this place also gives out free aids testing on certain days (which is probably a comfort to those who can't afford it) please , not only check out this locations but all the out of the closets! you'll be glad you did
