Red Rock is a neighborhood joint offering a casual meal or relaxing cocktail. Popular with the locals, we're usually packed with fun-loving patrons out on the town. We serve a California menu that features spring rolls, blue cheese burgers, Greek salads, grilled ahi steaks and pizzas. Come for our drinks and remember to come early for happy hour seating.
people watching central! they have a novel of a menu so i always hate going there hungry because i cant pick what i want. the food is ok, its kind of a sports scene, witch kinda feels out of place on sunset, but its a good place to watch people.

Ahh one of my favorite hang outs.
It has a nice little outside deck where you can watch all go by on Sunset.
Chicken fingers and the steak fries are YUMMY.
Great selection of imported beers.
Great place to meet up with friends, happy hour, or watch sports.
Great atmosphere.
There is an upstairs area with bar that we have visited for some of our company functions and a definite bonus.

I love going here to people watch and enjoy a couple of cocktails. The bartenders have always been amazing and they know how to run their bar. On weekends, they have a DJ upstairs that spins dance music. It get a little hot and sweaty up there but that's part of the charm. You can always go downstairs to the outside patio to regroup, cool off or have a cigarette. It's a great location on Sunset Blvd.

This place isn't spectacular- just your basic bar, but it's the friendly staff that makes it worth it. The drinks are pretty standard. If you want to dance or move around, there is an upstairs level, and the patio lets you get some fresh air, which is always refreshing.

Friendly servers, great burgers and fries (so forget healthfood), dart boards, many beers and decent martinis....just go prepared for a lot of non-stop noise and chatter (which is fine by me a few times a year there to enjoy their casual and good food)

Red Rock is right in the heart of Holloywood on Sunset Blvd. It is more of a place where a lot of regulars hang out, rather then a place where tourists make sure to stop by. The bar is a 2 story place with the dance floor upstairs in a smaller room. The good thing about Red Rock is that there are several smaller bars around the place so you don't usually have to wait in a huge line to get a drink.

Can't stand spending $15 on a drink? Yah. Neither can I. That's why the Red Rock is the place to be on Sunset Blvd. It's low maintenance fun, where sports are on the TV 24/7 and a great night out with your friends isn't going to break the bank.
After hearing two employees hurl a string of N-words at an African American patron, I tried to intervene. At which point I was called a Dirty Jew. When I complained I was kicked out and told that my 'kind' wasn't welcome. Avoid this place like a klan rally.
Pros: AVOID THIS PLACE
Cons: AVOID THIS PLACE
What can I say, it's where I go at the end of a week for a drink with the colleagues. The atmosphere is great, the drink prices during happy hour are incredible and the food, as far as bar food goes, is really good. They've got a good tap selection and we get a bowl of fries every time.
Pros: Happy Hour
I like coming to Red Rock for lunch with my coworkers. There is usually noone here at that time so we get the best spot in the house, the one with the clear view of the intersection :-)
I usually order Buffalo wings or a BLT sandwich
Good place to hang after work
Pros: Good Beer
Cons: Parking is a pain
The Bartenders are rude and greedy. They will let you know it if you leave a low $ tip! Watch your tab or it will be "inflated" from bogus charges!!
Pros: The pizza
Cons: The rude bartenders
Best bar within walking distance. also the most down to earth
Service is a bit slow as it can get fairly crowded in here. And in terms of the food quaility, it's pretty poor. Not much I've eaten here that is very good all, it's just border line edible in my opinion.
Pros: Drinks and Crowd are cool
Cons: Service, and Food
Great happy hour. Good bar food. Great patio and location. Great beer selection. Definitely recommend.
Pros: Happy Hour
Cons: Service
Went to Red Rocks after work last night and ended up visiting with numerous friends from the past. Sat on the patio and enjoyed an ice cold Fat Tire and a plentiful, well prepared, cobb salad. The crowed changed just as I was leaving around 8:30pm from after work patrons spot to a just-out-of-college demographic. Seems like a good place to meet people, listen to good music or watch ESPN on the many tv's.
The cheapest bar on the Strip is a good place for the young and employed to get a drink. It is always crowded on weekends and usually mellow until Thursday night. Half price apps & drinks at happy hour, a large balcony and some back stairs you can smoke on are the pros. The cons are the bathrooms, small and pretty gnarly.
Pros: 1. Great staff (Debbie, Mikki, Rita, Nicole, & Carrrie are my fave waitresses & bariste on Sunset!)
2. Austin-priced drinks in a Hollywood location.
3. The new beer-battered onion rings are delish.
Cons: 1. Worst powder room in WeHo. Ahem, the men's space got a face-lift, but the ladies' hovel rivals rural India for Most Disgusting Toilets. Comodes are supposed to flush, but these just succck!
2. Drinking on the porch is banned after midnight.
3. When I bring out-of-towners, they mention that the music is too loud to converse without yelling.
The Red Rock is always a good bet, whether for a great burger (try their namesake Red Rock Burger) or chicken strips or just a good beer. Happy hour is usually crowded and fun. They typically have sports on the flat screens. Service is usually good but is probably their weak point at times, as it gets too crowded for the few waiters they have running and the one bartender on hand. Great for lunch.
Pros: Good for a casual night out
This place is a great bar if you like the frat scene, however the nachos are AWFUL. I have never had bad nachos in my life, now I can say that I have. So make sure you don't order them if you go there.
Finally, a respite from Hollywood madness...red rock-----a great neighborhood find that reminds me of my favorite college pub. The place is kitch without being pretentious, and the soju drink are actually very tasty. Try the gingerita martini, it's very refreshing. The staff is also awesome! I recently had a party here and the manager and bartenders were so hospitable and helpful. A great place to host a get-together or hang out with a lade back crowd.
Pros: Happy hour
I've eaten at Red Rock for lunch on a number of occasions and can't recall ever having a bad meal. The burgers and salads are really, really good. The pizza is really large (I could barely eat half of a personal-sized pizza) and very tasty.
In the late afternoon the place starts filling up. Co-workers file over to Red Rock for a relaxing Happy Hour and I inevitably end up with a sore throat from yelling when the volume cranks up because it's packed.
Go on a a warm day and the windows and doors are open and it's a relaxing way to spend a lunch hour with a nice, freshly poured tasty beer (Newscastle on tap!). My meal recommendations include the Red Rock burger, the Caribbean burger, any of the salads and I've heard the soups are fantastic as well.
Pros: Good Food, Good Beer, Good Atmosphere
Cons: It gets crowded and noisy
You'll spend half your time there waiting to get even acknowledged by half the service staff. Only 1 out of every 3 times I've been have I had some quick and polite service.
Cons: The lousy half of the service staff ruins any other Pro that might be sited.
Go dressed up or casual. The drinks are strong and priced decent for a Hollywood club, the food is good, and the staff friendly. Valet in the back or park on the street but check for no parking zones, parking enforcement tickets at all hours of the night.
Pros: Great drinks, friendly staff, easy-going hang out
Cons: crowded, loud
Good spot to grab a few beers in a lowkey environment. Nothing special, but pretty cheap. Worth checking out if you're looking for a chill spot while still taking in a bit of the sunset strip.
People come here to get booty...it always happens. Most people succeed. Fridays and Saturdays are loud, crazy and out of control! Weeknights are pretty chill, but most definitely a good time. The drinks are great...the food is actually okay...I definitely recommend this place!
Pros: Happy hour, good looking people, atmosphere
Cons: It takes awhile to get food, but definitely not a problem
Looking for a great place to enjoy happy hour with good friends? If you're an out-of-towner like me who has no clue of what places to visit & gallavant for good times, then I highly recommend you visit the Red Rock Bar Lounge located on Sunset in between a tattoo joint and the infamous Viper Room. You can sit outside and smoke and maybe catch a celeb drive by, you never know. If you're single and looking to mingle, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, you can still get your drink on and enjoy watching whatever they've got playing on television.
I highly recommend arriving a little before 5 if you want your own table. It will start to get crowded if you get there at 6. Remember happy hour is from 5-7. Valet parking is behind the building itself. The beer and mixed drinks were good and reasonably priced alone. I had 4 patron margaritas and my other friend had a couple beers on tap which were pretty darn tasty. The only thing I wished was for the margarita cup to be bigger than a martini glass which is what they used for it. Of course our bartender by the name of Jason - f.y.i gave us extra shot glasses filled with extra margarita so that was nice of him-cute guy :).
There is a second floor where the bathrooms and lounge are located. It's decent. If you expect more and don't mind shedding a quad of cash, then its best you visit the A-List hot spot Hyde Lounge. It's hard to get into, but like I said... If you got the money and know some folks who happen to be close to Paris or Lindsey, then you'll be able to wisk your way in with no worries. Go and check it out for yourself. You be the judge.
Pros: Good Happy Hour & Friendly Bartenders
Cons: Martini glasses were used for the margaritas
Just was at Red Rock for first time. In LA from San Diego on vacation. It was a Tuesday night so it was not hopping but the scene was very chill. The bar has sort of an east coast vibe to it with the old school darts and the loud jukebox playing rock music. the drinks were reasonablly priced as well. I also didn't mind the good looking women coming and going throughout the night. I also heard that this place is really packed on Friday and Saturday nights. If you are looking for a place that is not to clubby or dimmed lighting I recommend you check it out.
Above average place to hang. Good for happy hour-1/2 price beers...I mean how often can you get a beer for 2 or 3 bucks in L.A.?!?!? Maybe they do well drinks the same...The food is mediocre. I hear the pizza is good but I haven't tried it. The upstairs is pretty cool on Friday and Saturday night. There are ususally a decent amount of decent looking or better ladies. OK dance area. I have never seen a fight there...which is good. Bartenders are generally cool. Both the upstairs and dowstairs DJ's spin good tunes. A fair mix of 80's, 90's and ok tunes from today. No pop princess garbage...one of the better places on the strip.
Pros: Good prices, patrons and bartenders.
Every time I come here, it's always nothing but a good night of fun. There are tons of women here and they all want to get drunk and get more afterwards! This is the only place that I know where women pick up on men (I guess the beautiful dimmed lounge upstairs does serves a purpose). Aside from women, the food and drinks are pretty good. It's a great scene on Fri/Sat nights. Speaking of which, I haven't been back sinced '99, well, I'm not single anymore, but for you single people, this is thee place to get lucky!!!
Pros: women, food/drink, location
I went to Red Rock to have lunch with other co-workers. The waiter took our order and 20 minutes later he came back only to bring me the wrong order. I told him that my order was wrong and if he would please exchange it. 30 minutes later still no order. Everyone else had finished their lunch and were ready to leave. I told the waiter that I was not going to wait any longer and to cancel the order. As we were leaving he brought out the wrong order Again!! and then expect me to pay for it. I refuse to pay and told him that I had canceled the order. I walked out and he followed me outside into the street and demanded me to pay. I said "no" and to add further insult, he told me to at lease pay for a coke that I had.
I may be a little biased, as I've been going to Red Rock since they opened, but I still think it's THE best bar in LA. I find it rather amusing that out of ALL the reviews there was only one negative one, and that girl was upset about what people looked like.
I moved away from L.A. a few years ago, yet, I'm going back there on 12/11/04 JUST to celebrate MY birthday.
This is a GREAT pub, owned by a british guy and 'built' by a Kiwi (cheers Aaron!). Hang out for Happy Hour 5-7 any day of the week, stick around for the craziness on the weekends, or show up Sunday morning for football with a bunch of screaming people.
Pros: Service, Atmosphere, BEST Happy Hour
I threw a 30th birthday party upsatirs & this went over Extremely well! The party kicked ass & everyone on staff that night rocked! Thanks again for the great memories!
No wonder Red Rock was voted one of the best singles scenes, everyone there is single for a reason! I went on a Saturday night, and i saw only 2 semi-attractive men the entire night, one of them being a waiter. Most of these people werent even the least bit attractive, no matter how much you drink. I left and went to Barneys Beanery where the men are at least decent looking.
Pros: inexpensive valet, not too crowded, good waitstaff
Cons: , expensive drinks, Ugly clientele!
Red Rock is my favorite bar on the Strip. The service is very good and you don't get cheated on your drinks. The second floorhas a small dance floor with an ecletic mix of music (always good though). the plush couches along with the small dance floor gives it a really good house party feel to it. Plenty of regulars to hang out with, plus non of the pretencious hollywood crap in here.
Pros: Second Floor, Service and Drinks, Good Crowd
Cons: none....
If you want to go somewhere and have lots of fun without dealing with the typical LA stuff, definitely head to Red Rock. The bartenders are great and tons of fun. Go on a Friday or Saturday and hang out in the Upstairs Lounge to dance, listen to good underground music and to just lounge.
Pros: bartenders, crowd, food
Cons: hard to find parking
Red Rock in WeHo, Rocks! The bar tenders are cool, management is cool, the people who hang here are cool. It has good vibe! Great place to meet locals.
Pros: Great Staff, Great patio, Great location
Not that many great looking people, but it is on a happenin corner. Food is decent for bar food. Did have a very fun time though. When I am back in LA I will probably go back.
This is a great place to hang out after work; it's relaxed and has an amazing selection of U.K./Irish beers on tap. It definitely has an English pub feel with a Hollywood twist--but it's not too Hollywood. It's a great place to start out on a Friday night after work before you hit the more "serious" Sunset hotspots. I always meet and see cute guys here; often a Brit away from home! If you get hungry, the food is pretty good, too.
Even though it may be a little small to fit the many patrons, Red Rock is a cool place to hang out. You have to get there early because the parking sucks otherwise.
Pros: Cool Atmosphere, Cool Crowd, Sunset Strip
Cons: Parking, Crowded, Sunset Strip
This is a great place to get the night started. Happy hour is great and one can sit outside in the sun and watch all the "beautiful people" drive by in fancy cars!
Great casual bar, greaty food, excellent service and a cool place to meet people.Good view of the Strip as well.
this is a great bar to "just chill"!
the drinks are good, and the food is not too shabby for "typical bar food". they have a cool little lounge up stairs where you can hang out on couches, chairs, and drink some more!
the Bartenders are very cool and the people in the bar are very NICE! YOu can chill with anyone in the bar!
Pros: laid back, good service
Being from L.A., I've been almost everywhere until a few months ago. I would always see Red Rock with all of these people outside and think why? That was until my friend had a birthday there one Saturday. It was the best! The best mixed drinks at a reasonable price with the atmosphere that was more happy-go-lucky than the serious, who has the smallest cellphone vibe.
Pros: cheap parking, good drinks, good atmo.
Cons: crowded, drunk people
Red Rock has some drink deals and a good crowd at happy hour. Good mix of local business folk and Hollywood types during happy hour with the Hollywood types taking over after that. The food is tasty so starting the evening here with a few drinks and dinner is a good thing.
Red Rock is a great hang out in the afternoon and into happy hour. They have a great patio to relax and catch some hollywood sun. The lunch food is pretty tasty and they have good deals during happy hour.
If you want to meet people this is the place. It is always happening and "hip" in here. It isnt too trendy so you can feel comfortable in here and the bar is pretty good. Would i come again...Heck ya..
Red Rock is great for happy hour, when it's not so jam packed. The later it gets, the more crowded it gets, and the place is tiny. The main bartender on Friday and Saturday nights is one of the best in LA- unbelievably fast, and makes fair drinks for the price. So, cool for happy hour (or on an "off" night), but too crowded on Fridays and Saturdays.
I used to go to Red Rock more often a year or so ago, and it was a good, relaxed, no-pressure sort of bar. The crowd was more the "fun" than the "beautiful" people, and it never got *too* crowded.
I've tried to go back recently, and now it's definitely changing. When the place is hopping, it's too full, and everyone brings their own crowd along with them so it's losing the "singles" edge it used to have.
Pros: relaxed
Cons: crowded, downward spiral
"Love the atmosphere, trendy, inexpensive ( for the area). Very friendly staff."
