I highly recommend Laurie's practice.

by Roxanne F.

I have been a patient of Laurie Binder for more than two years. She has helped to minimize a variety of peri-menopausal symptoms, relieve the effects of stress on my internal organs and alleviated the symptoms of the common (but resistant) colds. Her approach to the integration of Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine is supportive as well as insightful. I consider my acupuncture treatments both restorative and preventative, and I highly recommend Laurie's practice.

A great experience

by Jason K.

Dr. Laurie really takes the time to get to know the patient, understand all their complaints, and make them feel relaxed during treatment. I was afraid of the needles, but they didn't hurt and I felt great after my treatment. I would reccomend her to anybody.

The best I've seen

by Jason L.

Dr. Laurie made me feel relaxed and confident in the treatment. I don't want to share my condition, but the results of a few weeks of treatment was amazing!

The best combination of Eastern and Western medicine!

by ghperiwinkle

I visited two other highly recommended acupuncturists "specializing" in women's and fertility health for over a year, without a significant change in my health patterns despite spending significant time and money. I was attracted to Laurie's background as a women's health nurse practitioner, but her deep knowledge of Eastern medicine and warm bedside manner completely won me over. Within just a couple of weeks of treatment, I began experiencing much more energy, and in less than 2 months of treatment, I became pregnant - 1st baby is due Nov. 2007. I particularly appreciated Laurie recommending dietary changes and acupuncture without adding herbs first; in fact, I was never on herbs with Laurie. The other two practitioners both pushed herbal supplements very hard (which I took - without much effect). The biggest difference was that Laurie really aimed to address the root of imbalances, which vary from person to person, and even from visit to visit. I felt the other practitioners practiced more from a "formula" - the points and herbs used did not vary too much...

Pros: Relaxing office, effective treatments, warm bedside manner, free parking, punctual

Very knowledgeable!

by doritthies

When Dr. Laurie Binder took care of me a couple of months ago I felt instantly at ease and started to relax in her presence. She was able to relax me, with her acupuncture, get my digestion
back on track and she had great nutritional advice based on Chinese healing.
She gave me very useful herbal supplements to relax my state of mind and to bring up my energy level. I can highly recommend her and will always go back to her.

Pros: puctual

A genuine, caring health practitioner

by kaths

Following traumatic treatment by a fertility Doctor, I found Laurie on the internet. Laurie is a lovely person, genuinely interested in her patients. Laurie not only got my cycles back on track, she also helped me to find a wonderful ob/gyn. doctor. I have just recommended Laurie to a friend with fertility problems and will certainly recommend her to other friends in the future.

Pros: easy parking, punctual

Laurie Binder is the best!!

by annierob2

I find Dr. Laurie Binder's acupuncture treatments energizing and effective, her counsel inspiring and her responsiveness to my individuality heartening. Under her program I have lost 115 lbs (11 months) but, maybe even better, I have gained strength, stamina, self-awareness and hopefulness. I have never been as healthy as I am now (I havent even had a cold since Ive been going to Laurie) and I am so grateful to be under her care. She is practical, realistic, absolutely honest, encouraging and supportive -- the real deal.

Pros: Feels Great, Fabulous Results, Helpful

Cons: None!

Treatment with Laurie Binder

by sandrabaeza

Dealing with infertility can be a very difficult time in a women's life. Laurie made that time easier for me. Laurie treated me with Acupuncture for 5 months and prepared me for my fertility treatments I recieved through my Reproductive Specialist. Laurie was always very concerned and attentive to my situation. When needed, she would treat me on-call, after undergoing time-sensitive fetility treatments. My overall experience with her was great and i would highly recommend her for any women dealing with fetility issues.

Pros: Free parking

Laurie Binder is the greatest!

by joelorama

We are big fans of Laurie in our home. When my wife and I were looking to conceive our child and after having difficulties on our own, we had huge success with Laurie Binder in very short period of time. Treatments are relaxing, theraputic, and invigorating, and because Laurie is such an open, caring, and honest person, it makes going back a pleasure rather than a chore. Although we don't see her as often these days (we are all healthy and happy), she is on the very short list of great resources for our family when we do need help, as her combination of experience in Western and Eastern medicines is unique and effective. Plus, her new offices are superb and convinent!

Pros: great treatments, health ins. accepted, Responsive, caring Dr

Healing Acupuncturist

by smbay

Having Dr. Laurie Binder come into my life was a gift. I have suffered for years from vertigo, sinus problems, low energy, and insomnia. Throughout, I have seen many different doctors from neurologists to ENTs to homeopaths-- all without any results. Out of frustration, I looked into trying acupuncture and had the fortune of finding Laurie. She has a rare combination of skill, intuition, and a general healing presence which have worked together to make a powerful positive impact in my health. For chronic conditions such as mine, Acupuncture is a process, and I have experienced considerable measurable improvements that no other doctor or practitioner before Laurie was able to help me accomplish. I truly believe that Dr. Binder is a healer and am thankful for what she has done to improve the quality of my life.

Pros: free parking, relaxing environment, checks, credit cards

I cannot recommend Laurie highly enough. Her attention, genuine concern and knowledge is quite astonishing. After a relatively short series of treatments I became pregnant with my first child (now a healthy, rambunctious 16 month old). I had a rather difficult pregnancy, during which her phone calls to see how I was doing meant more to me than I think she will ever realize. Lauries breadth of knowledge (coming from her background in traditional western medicine), patience and humour makes her more than just a great accupuncturist. She is someone I would recommend to both first timers to Eastern medicine and people who have been experiencing its benefits for years.

Once a skeptic

by brownlab

After making the rounds with traditional Western medicine I sought out alternative routes to fertility. I took a recommendation to a well known acupuncturist practice with a star studded clientele and impressive results. After a year of weekly visits I experienced improved results in my cycle. Because of their notariety, it was difficult to book appointments plus language was a problem. Practitioners spent less time, fewer questions were answered, prices began to soar. I found Dr. Binder on the internet and on the first appointment she answered all of my questions regarding acupuncuture and guided me through a fertility enhancing diet plan. At 42, within two months of treatment I became pregnant...naturally. We eagerly await the arrival of my first in July. Her background in nursing provides the perfect combination of Eastern and Western medicines. Dr. Binder is knowledgeable, caring, informative and invested in her patients.

Pros: Well priced, Personalized care

Relief

by michael777

In my zeal for a feeling of permanent relaxation and my lower back discomfort I looked for an effective acupuncturist. Most fortunately for me, I found Santa Monica Acupuncture and Laurie Binder. I received acupuncture from her every week for more than 6 months. She really really helped me. In fact, after I stopped receiving treatments, I continued to feel good and do so today (two years so far and counting since my last visit).

Laurie is the first acupuncturist who ever had a real effect for me. She is knowledgeable . well-rounded (with a background in allopathic practice as well), and personable. I highly recommend her, even to people who don't live on the west side. Another plus -- her office, which overlooks the ocean, is in a great spot across the street from free Santa Monica parking.
