We Love Photographing Temple Israel  5 Star Rating - World class

Temple Israel of Hollywood is one of our favorite temples to photograph. It's a big, historic beautiful building in a quiet area of Hollywood, and the services are the most musical of any we've attended--and we've attended a lot.

Warm community, great adult classes  5 Star Rating - World class

Rabbi Missaghieh sponsored my conversion to Judaism at TIOH. After 10 years of practicing the religion, I decided to complete my conversion as my wedding approached. The temple was a warm and inviting place and offered adult education classes and mentoring. The year of my conversion was a wonderful time, right up to the Bet Dinh and mikvah. Friday's Shabbat services are wonderful, but the High Holidays are a bit overwhelming. I cannot say enough about the conversion support and adult classes that they offer.

PROS: Warm community, adult courses, gift shop, fantastic rabbis
CONS: Parking, cost of High Holidays services

GREAT FAMILY LOCALE!  5 Star Rating - World class

WE LOVE BOTH THE DAY SCHOOL AND THE TEMPLE AT TEMPLE ISRAEL OF HOLLYWOOD. IT'S A WONDERFUL COMMUNITY OF FAMILIES. WE HAVE MADE A LOT OF NEW FRIENDS THERE AND FIND EVERYONE TO BE VERY WELCOMING.

PROS: WELCOMING COMMUNITY
CONS: WELL, MAYBE THE PARKING IS A BIT TOUGH THERE

Temple Israel is located in a tree-lined section of Hollywood Blvd., in a neighborhood of well-maintained apartment buildings and old California bungalows. The building is a stone fortress that takes up a whole city block and, although its surrounded by large, old trees, its a decidedly urban school. Inside, the spaces are airy and bright and classrooms are a colorful, creative, organized chaos of sorts. The impression you get is one of activity. Children are involved and up to their elbows in the task at hand, whether it be drawing, cutting, pasting, working with manipulative learning tools, or creating a science project. The children seem to be genuinely enjoying themselves and were so engaged in their various activities that they hardly noticed they had a visitor.
