top pot is fantastic!
by Andrea G.
My office gets top pot donuts every week. We love it and their staff and service are incredible. I not only love the donuts, but the coffee is the best by far.

My wife is from Seattle and we get there several times each year. When we do, the first place I go after dropping the suitcases is to Top Pot. Coming from a place where there is a Dunkin Donuts every 50 feet it is great to get to eat such a tasty alternative.
Starbucks has started to carry some Top Pot donuts in their stores but clearly these cannot compare. After having written this I'm already looking forward to the next trip west.

I grw up in Seattle in the 60's and now live in Lakeview Oregon. On a recent Seahawk trip I visited the downtown Top Pot. These are the best donuts I have ever had, bar none. Also, great and friendly service.
Can you deliver to Lakeview????

I love this place. It has a funky atmosphere and the donuts are so GOOD! I love the Top Pot in Capitol Hill and have only been the downtown location once. It is a must if you like baked goods!

We Love the Donuts

I have never in my life sampled such delicious donuts. i used to work at a bakery back east and believe me after you work around donuts you don't often want to want to eat piles of them. Oh dear, this place could be dangerous. I have a tendency to pack on the pounds and these donuts are just so heavenly that you can not stop at one or even 2 sometimes. I have to say that the coffee I ordered here was not really anything special. In fact, it tasted sort of bitter. I always order decaf and find that to be the case alot. Who needs great coffee when you are lost in donut bliss?

If you are visiting Seattle you must experience a local treasure- Top Pot Doughnuts. There are a variety of flavors ranging from lemon to chocolate each baring a unique and clever name. The doughnuts are also available in a few select Starbucks locations- but are best consumed right out of the oven at the Top Pot cafe.
PROS:
CONS: Certainly not a place for dieters

FORGET KRISPY KREME

These are the best donuts. Ever. Period. They have a downtown location too (2124 5th Ave), but the hours are shorter and it's more of a business crowd during daytime weekday hours. The donuts are made in-house, there's a ton of variety, and they even have sandwiches (downtown, not sure about Summit) which are very good too. The donuts are huge and, to be honest, pretty heavy, but so good. Perfect icing. Perfect combo of crispy and chewy. AND: They serve great coffee too, Zeitgeist (another local company) beans and trained baristas (which should go w/o saying).

I love the coffee, firstly! Not too strong or bitter or weak. Just perfect in my book.
The main attraction are the donuts. They make them fresh daily. More importantly, they are awesome. There are two locations. One downtown and in the Capitol Hill area. They provide free internet connection for the laptop warriors as well. Good donuts, good coffee, and free internet connection. What can I say? Go?

The Best Donuts in the Universe

Whoever said Krispy Kreme was the best donuts they ever tasted has never tried a Top Pot doughnut. Top Pot's handcrafted delicious doughnuts come in many different flavors, shapes, and sizes. They have the traditional style ring donuts which are light and fluffy, but it's the old-fashioned style doughnut cakes that are the tastiest. My personal favorite is the Maple old-fashioned. With its crunchy edges and dense cake on the inside, it is truly doughnut heaven. Other delicious flavors include the usual suspects like chocolate frosted, glazed, and jelly filled. The more exotic includes the pink feather boa which is a doughnut with pink frosting and a hefty dose of coconut shavings.

Top Pot makes Crispy Cream donuts look incredibly sad and plain. The donuts at Top Pot, all million flavors of them, are dense but soft and oh so fresh. The one on Summit Ave is small but adorable, with book-lined walls, outside seating, and a super friendly staff. Oh, they also make some mean coffee.

Top Pot is probably known more for their yummy dnuts than they are for their coffee. Donuts are made fresh on site each night after closing to ensure freshness before opening at six in the morning. The staff is generally cheery at all hours and doesnt mind if customers hang out sipping coffee, munching donuts and surfing the web on their laptops. Though the coffee is good, I definitely recommend grabbing a couple donuts on your visit.
