Great food, open mike music, beer!

I love the Hopvine for many reasons. The neighboorhood is my favorite in the city, 15th area of upper Capitol Hill. The bar is small, but so cozy. They have a few nice big booths, friendly barstaff, a really interesting selection of beers (I had one a few months ago that had hints of smoked salmon flavor, and it was good!). My favorite dish is the hot artichoke dip, and they have an open mike every week that is really fun.
PROS: great beer, food, atmosphere.
CONS: No cons, I love this place!

It is a great local pub with the neighborhood feel. The food is great and service is always friendly. They have a great selection of local beers. Try the soup they are all made there by the chef and are excellent. The pizza is great, but ask what the wait time is like, sometime the wait can be pretty long if they are busy. They have open mic night every Wednesday with every thing from jaw dropping talent to glad it is a two song maximum they are hurting my ears kind of performances, more good than bad but always fun, other nights with local artist.
PROS: Fun, happy servers, great food, local music
CONS: If they are busy a long wait for food

Cozy pub with live music
by Laurie G.
The Hopvine Pub is a cozy bar with a terrific selection of local and international beers. The food menu includes great soups, sandwiches, pizza, and appetizer plates, although when the bar gets crowded the service suffers. Live music most nights and a monthly trivia night.

Yeah, the service can be slow (you often have to go up to the bar to order), but the Hopvine is adorable and laid back. It's never too smoky or too crowded during the day, and filled with a nice crowd in the evenings. It's less of a pub to me and more of a cafe with beers on tap. Lovely!

Far as bar food is concerned, Hopvine invariably has some of the tastiest items. Their seasonable soups and salads are always really good. Their garlic knots are probably my personal favorite. Beer and wine selection is great. They even host one of Seattle's best open mic nights (in terms of the quality of performers that show up) and some great live music on the weekends. I love this place, but a few things keep it from five stars: the service sucks. The staff is friendly enough, but not altogether attentive. You definitely don't want to eat here if you want your food really soon. And it can be difficult to find somewhere to sit.
PROS: The pizzas are great too!
