The staff is very helpful. They offer a variety of clothes. I especially like their shirts. It is a little pricey but worth every penny! A overall good place to shop.

All American in Hillcrest
I love this store in Hillcrest. It is definitely expensive, but the clothing and colors make it worth the extra dollars. They have the most amazing underwear and bras. They are also dog friendly :) and they sell little dog get-ups also.
Their clothing is only plain-colored clothes, although they have fun and unique cuts and a wide variety of colors.
Parking is often tough, especially during the busier hours. There are also little coffee places, smoke shops, and eateries around.
It costs a quarter for twelve minutes of parking, with a two hour limit, before six on most days. There is a decent amount of street metered parking, but also a lot of people vying for it.

Everything at American Apparel is made in an LA facility by people who get paid fairly and work in decent conditions...that's right no sweatshops. And you pay for it. The prices are a little up there but can you really put a price on your conscience - American Apparel hopes not. They sell basic cut items such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, skirts, underwear, scarves, all in tons of different colors. However all the pieces are plain and mostly one color. Don't shop here if you love prints, shop here to get a t-shirt to wear under your prints. It's a cool place to stop in while shopping in Hillcrest, but if you're not making the trip there, try the online store.

Clothes made in America. Sounds strange doesn't it. This store gets it right by having every single one of their items manufactured right here in the states. Besides that fact, the store offers very little in terms of variety when it comes to mens clothing. Shirts and jackets come in a multitude of colors, but are thin and high-priced. The store is probably much more geared towards females. So if you're able to stand the cold, stop by and pick up something so you can say you support the good ole USA.

A great place to buy american made, sweatshop free clothing. Although the prices may be a little steep and the fabric a little thin, the clothing is very soft and free of sweatshop labor. The clothes fit very well and accomodate the current trends of todays ever changing youth. You can buy your clothing guilt free here, and spare yourself the trip to the mall.

The Best T-Shirts Ever!
by Kate D.
I've been going to American Apparel on 4th since it opened. Forget the Gap, these t-shirts are much better! They're thin and have a really flattering fit, even if you're not stick-skinny. They have other stuff too, like skirts, gym pants, and track jackets, and everything is plain with no logo or other designs.
The people who work there seem pretty cool - they won't accost you with 'May I help you's all the time, but they will help if you look kind of lost.
They're a little more expensive than you'd expect, but they *are* made in America and not a sweatshop. I'm willing to pay the extra $5 for that.

All American Apparel has a great thing going for them. i like the fact that everything is made in the United States and that means no exploiting cheap labor in other countries to get our $3 T shirts. Their clothes are sort of lame, however, as they are pretty unfashionable. The clothes look like Russel athletic wear, jsut blank, solid colors and no cool designs.

This store is so cool. nothing is made at sweat shops and the quality of their clothing is great. Everything is basically solid colors but the color choice is like no other. If you open up a crayola box, you still can match this store's color selection. The only thing abuot the store that might be a turn off is that a plain tee can cost upwards of 12 dollars. But, hey, its MADE IN USA baby!
