The Purple Onion

The coolest comedy club in San Francisco...and what a history. Legends like Lenny Bruce, Woody Allen, Phyllis Diller, The Smothers Brothers, and The Kingston Trio all played the club in the 50s and 60s. You can go on Thursdays for only $10 and have a blast. The comedians are hysterical and it is such a great deal.

Never been to a comedy club before this but I had a great experience and will go again. Good environment with friend staff. Great for a date or just to hang out with friends. Great preformers and comedians. Can't wait to go back.

The purple onion is one place you have to visit if your in the San Francisco area. Its a good place to chill out and have a good laugh. They usually have a good line up to please the crowd. The place is nicely lit and not too bright but enough to see whats going on. Occasionally you'll get someone not as humorous but everyone has they're on sense of humor right?

a little ways down from the cobb comedy club is this one the purple onion which is part resturant and part comedy club. they've always got a great show going and celebrity comics do drop by. the other cool thing about this place is on friday nights you can go dancing!!
