Galaxy Theaters Gateway

My partner and I go to this theater all the time! The movies are $2 a person, $1 on Tuesdays, and the screen quality is comparable to the $10 theaters in the area. When we go out on a budget date, this is the place we head to. Have a few hours to kill with broke friends? $20 gets 5 people in, snacks to split, and a bit of change left in your pocket. It's walking distance from the metro bus station, the federal way commons, and Wal-Mart. We've spent many lazy afternoons at Galaxy 8 for the past few years and expect to hide away some hot summer days in the coming months.

Yes....it is old and the facilities are not the greatest....but few are; but this is a very good place to see movies you may have missed. The popcorn is as good as other sites...and priced about the same....

....and for Two Dollars admission...what are your expectations?

My brothers and I don't go often to the threaters due to busy shedules, etc., one night I decided to take them to see 'Night At The Museum' at the Federal Way Galaxy "8" and since then have never gone back and wont! They let in some dirtbag parents who brought their under 1 year old child who never shut up, even after repeated comments from myself and other viewers. This ruined the experience of the movie and left a sour taste for the rest of the night. The staff afterwards didn't seem the least concerned. Plus the place is old and small. Go somewhere else like Auburn Stadium 17.

the galaxy getway theaters have the best prices for movies. it conventient located. lots of parking. resturtants to eat. and shopping that you can do.

The Galaxy Theater in Federal Way does have great prices, but the theater is in need of renovation and it would be great if there were places close by to allow waiting or grabbing a bite to eat. Cheap tickets are what we go for.

If all you need from a movie theatre is a larger screen than your TV at home, then this is it. In a world where full-price tickets hover close to $10 each, the $5 matinee and $7 evening prices at Galaxy 8 are a welcome relief. The facilities aren't spectacular, but they do the trick if budget is your primary concern.

PROS: Cheap ticket prices
CONS: Facilities are a little run down

For those of you more concerned about location or lack of crowds, this place is fine. However, if you're into video or sound quality, comfort of seats, etc. this isn't the place to go. There are much better theaters around that usually have the same movies, so I'd suggest you pass on this theater unless you don't want to drive far and are seeing a chick-flick.

This is a great place to go if you do not want to deal with the crowds taht you can some times get at other movie theaters. They have great movies and really great prices too. The poeple who work there are great. Parking is easy too. This is a great place to go to the movies.

This theater is the closest to where I live, but I usually skip past it and go to other (better) theaters. This one is ok...it plays a decent variety of movies, usually not too crowded. But they only have a couple of good screens. I personally dont think its all that well taken care of either. I've seen it pretty messy there. But if you're not picky, then I guess it wouldnt matter.

PROS: Good movies, not too crowded, good parking
CONS: kinda messy, not very many screens, not very good screens

We go to this theater once in a while, since its pretty nearby. They will usually have the movie we want to see, but there isnt that great of a selection. I would classify it as a smaller theater. On the plus side, its usually clean and the service is alright too.

Galaxy Gateway 8 has gone through several changes in ownership, but its a great little place, out of the way, easy parking, not crowded, shows good movies at excellent prices, and one of the only theaters left in Federal Way, until the big multi-plex moves into town. I enjoy supporting the smaller businesses because access and services are usually better.
