A big plus for the shelter but a minus for those who go to Petsmart
by Melinda L.
2 yrs ago we adopted a 6 mo old beagle from you. We still have my boy Bandit and he is like our son. He is a great dog and good company for me. Weeks ago we went to Petsmart to adopt a cat and had a very difficult time . The cat had 3 legs, her name was Juanita and she was just what we were looking for. It was a terrible experience dealing with these women. Worse than adopting a child.

rescue??????
by peter m.
i recently was looking to by an english bulldog and was told that the shelter had a 4 year old english bulldog that was given up by its owners for either because of there age or allergies.. the following day i inquired about the dog only to hear the heartbreaking news that this healthy 4 year old animal was put down because she was in there care for too long of a time before being adopted.. i find that to be repulsive and horrible.. i dont whether u should rush there to adopt animals to rescue them or what? but i just thought people who love animals and want to really help them would like to know..
PROS: they have animals to adopt..
CONS: if u wait they will die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Responsible Shelter
by Hasmig K.
I highly recommend this shelter to anyone looking to adopt a pet. We adopted one dog form them and had such a fantastic experience that one year later we went and adopted a second one. The staff at the shelter weRE so helpful and really cared about the pets. Compared to some it is a small shelter and it is difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area, but was WELL WORTH THE TRIP

A better city animal shelter.
by Arisai H.
Staff encourage your interest and curiousity about possible adoptees and they do walk and keep the cages clean. Animals seem to be mentally fit or at least happy to be rescued, fed and looked after considering where they may have come from. The adoption fee's are very reasonable and they will work with your budget. It's a rescue shelter so the more you can give the better since it's for a great cause. They could use more staff to keep the place looking clean and fresh and spend more quality time with the animals.
PROS:
CONS: It's not located in an easy to get to location unless you have a car.

I recently adopted an older cat from Liberty Animal Shelter. The animals were all very healthy and well taken care of. The staff is very conscientious and caring. They answered all my questions and were knowledgable about the personalities of each cat and their quirks. Also, even though adopting at Liberty can be more expensive than you may expect a shelter animal to be, all the money they take in goes right to the care of the animals. The place is all around great.
