A Christmas Favorite

by Sue J. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 431

A favorite of ours during Christmas. A great place to shop out of the weather while still being in downtown. The tunnel makes it great for getting where you need to be. Very convenient and full of fun stores.

Great Mall!

by Christie M. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 388

This is a mall with a great atmosphere and it's really fun to do christmas shopping there. They have a great eatery, but I would think twice about getting on the monorail.

Good Place for Holiday Shopping

by Michael L. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,471

Because it is nearly that time of the year again, I may be visiting Westlake more often. The outside is always festive around Christmas time, and the stores inside usually have a lot of deals. If you are looking for gift ideas, you should walk around inside and hopefully one of the stores will give you big ideas. In other times of the year, though, the prices can be a bit hefty.

Good to eat at their cafeteria on the top floor...shopping only for certain stores.

by madge y. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,147

If you're coming here to shop, looking for a certain store, like the Maternity Store, or Impress Rubber Stamp store, then by all means, you won't be disappointed. But if you came here to really shop, you are in the wrong mall. I suggest you walk 2 blocks down to Pacific Place. That said, if you're in downtown, and want something reasonably priced to eat, eat here! They have an awesome variety of appetizing foods from every country. From World Wraps, to Thai, to Mexican, Indian, and my favorite; Georgio's Subs. If it's raining, exit underneath in the Metro tunnel, and you can walk to many other stores, like Nordstrom's and Macy's!

PROS: Need Quick eat, come here. Plenty of seating. Underground tunnel!
CONS: Not many very good, fashionable stores.

shoppin in the emerald city

by victor m. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,349

This is one of the best shopping centres in Seattle. Many stores are included in an easy to walk area. Many restaurants line this area also. Its a great hub of activity to go to if you are in Seattle. Great place for shopping dining, and just sight seeing. Come see what Seattle has to offer.

PROS: $$

Good for food, not shopping

by Kristen M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,153

Westlake Center is surrounded by great shopping, but the mall itself does not contain many good stores. It houses moslty specialty stores such as maternity, music and jewelry and has only a few popular stores such as Express, Fireworks and Fossil. If you are looing for a place to eat the top floor hosts an entire array of fast food eateries. Everything from chinese, to pizza to MacDonalds. But if you are looking to shop I would stick to the outlying area of the mall.

shopping center for the unfashionable

by shianxiu s. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 954

i have been visiting the westlake center several times, and i still, never ever find anything that fits my taste. westlake center is more for people who dress "plain". or for mothers with children. what is strange is that this shopping center looks really nice and ritzy, however, when you walk into the center, not at all classified this way. i should have known already, by the type of people that walk and shop about in this center. the young ones look ghetto, while the older ones have little children.

Location, Location, Location

by Kevin D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,635

Yes, this place is set right in downtown Seattle. So that means you are near everything for your shopping pleasures.
You also have the option of taking the monorail from the Spaceneedle in the Queen Anne area to the Westlake Center. How cool is that? There are all of you usual mall type places within Westlake Center. There is also a really good food court with lots of choices that ranges from hot dogs toThai food and so on.

PROS: location, atmosphere
CONS: none

Fun place to shop!

by Sheila B. | insider Insider | Rank: 17,751

I only go to malls when I want to spend frivoluous money or just browse for an afternoon. I love Westlake because if you really want to make an afternoon of it, you can take the Monorail from Seattle Center and head into Westlake. I always like to start at the bottom level and work my way up the levels. They've got a great book store in one corner and that's usually where I spend my time. And on the top level is a stamp place that has the cutest trinkets to make great cards! It's where I got all my ideas for my holiday cards last year. The food court/level has a lot of yummy places to eat depending on my mood. So I love Westlake when I've got a few hours to kill.

PROS: I like the multi-level aspect.

Great place to get shopping done

by Amanda M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,668

I love to be able to leave the house early to go to work and be able to come and shop at westlake center. They have most of the shops that you will need in the little mall. The main part I love besides my favorite store being in there there is a starbucks right there. Not only are there shops in the mall there is also alot of eateries in the mall that are good, alot are cheap.
