Hoboken Hot Bagels makes THE BEST Taylor ham, egg & cheese bagel sandwiches. I lived in Hoboken while attending Stevens, and I miss them so much now. I've been living in Los Angeles for the past couple of years, but we end up returning to Jersey City pretty frequently (where my wife has family). EVERY time we're back in Jersey I make sure we swing by Hoboken Hot Bagels to get a Taylor ham, egg & cheese on an everything bagel. This past weekend, my wife made the trip back to NJ without me, and she's bringing two sandwiches back with her on the plane.

The fact that they microwave their eggs (instead of frying them on a griddle) may not sound good to someone who doesn't know any better, but it turns out to be wonderful: the eggs are much more light & fluffy as a result. Their portion of Taylor Ham is nice & thick too, unlike another certain bagel spot a block away.

I don't know what's with the two recent one-star reviews. The girl complaining about the salt must have some kind of low-salt eating habits, or maybe she got a bad batch. Clearly she knows everyone thinks they're delicious since she had high expectations, yet she gives them ONE star because the only bagel she tried was too salty for her taste? And to the reviewer who finds the microwave usage gross: get over yourself and just TASTE the damn thing.

Hoboken Hot Bagels makes THE BEST Taylor Ham (pork roll), egg & cheese bagel sandwiches. I lived in Hoboken while attending Stevens, and I miss them so much now. A few reviewers on various websites have complained about the fact that they microwave their eggs instead of frying them on a griddle. I was skeptical at first too, but then I tasted the sandwich. If you can ditch your snobby side, you'll notice that the eggs come out much lighter & fluffier -- and tastier -- than if they had been fried. Their slices of Taylor Ham are nice and thick, too; so the whole bagel-to-fillings ratio ends up being something like 2:1.

As for the quality of the bagel, they are just the right taste, texture and size. (This place has resisted the urge to jumbo-size.) The NY Times wrote a little article on them, which they have posted on the wall of the shop. It's online, too: go to the NY Times website and search for "Hoboken Bagels".

I just wish they would stay open later. Oh, and I don't really recommend their coffee

I was really excited to try Hoboken bagels and thought they would be amazing so I picked up 13. I toasted one for breakfast and it was so bad I had to throw it out after I forced down half. It was too salty for me. My boyfriend tried it and he said the same. I was surprised so many people like them, as we threw ours out and will find a new spot.

Do not order eggs at the place. They put them in a plastic container and microwave them. Very nasty, and the rolls are bad too. A great way to get in a bad mood on a Saturday morning.

If you want real breakfast food this is defiantly a place to avoid

PROS:
CONS: Eggs, Rolls

Definitely the best bagels in Hoboken. You're served quick (regardless of line length), and the guys that run the place on a Saturday/Sunday morning are just really chill. They also have great egg sandwiches.

Lookin' for a great bagel? Nobody beats these guys. Hot out of the oven these bagels are perfect - warm and chewy outside, soft and fluffy inside. These guys make a great breakfast sandwich too! Their prices are great and the people are friendly. Just be careful on a nice Saturday morning. You may find lines out the door!

PROS: Best bagels in town
CONS: I wish they were open all day!
