Foothill College

The price is just right at this place. It used to be cheaper a few years ago but I am not complaining. I really like their list of online and distance courses. Thats very helpful for someone who does not have time to go into a class to learn something.

I have taken many classes here and I was not satisfied with less than 10 percent of the instructors. In all, great place to learn.

Foothill College is in the same system with De Anza College. Those two are the two best community colleges in the area. They has a lot of classes, lot of good instructor, but of course, like most good school, their classes are harder compare to
equivalent classes of other community colleges

CONS: Classes are hard

Attended here for concerts and such. This place used to be kind of "ghetto" with a lot of litter around and old classrooms.

However, Foothill College has really improved itself. It feautres new chairs and a new football stadium (it sadly replaced the running track). It's auditorium is fairly large and can accomodate concerts and such.

Only problem is walking up the stairs. It can be dangerous for the
elderly since stairs go so high up. It's difficult to drive up also because it's one lane and some cars go down.

Foothill is the best community college that I know of. I have had many friends that have went throught here of all ages. Right now the daughter of my priest goes there and I can really see through her what a great place this is. She constantly informs me of how inspirational some of her teachers are for her. She took a Spanish class and in just a year she could basicallt talk freely with you. She is always busy with some homework. Right now she's taking a really interesting pshychology class. I have many Russian friends who went through here to learn English. Its also a great place to meet people. They also have classes that are less academic like pilates, dance forms and yoga. They have a great library that you can buy used books from, also you can sell it back to them.

The classes are cheap, the instruction is not top notch. You can get a D here and still get credit in a UC institution. How ridiculous is that? At least you cannot go from a junior college to a UC like berkeley anymore. That is even more ridiculous. Anyway foothill is a decent institution for education.

I was pretty impressed with the faculty here. They seemed very knowledgeable in the subject areas and classes were more difficult than I expected. Very nice school. The one thing I did not like was my teacher seemed too busy to meet with students who needed help on a one-on-one basis.

For a community college I have no word for Foothill except for awesome. Whether you are an adult or a teen just out of high school this is a great place for you. They have tons of great and interesting classes that you can choose from, including some that are not so academic but more for physical fitness. Believe it or not even monatary help is available even though this is a community college. They have a really great system of text books; you can buy a used one at the library and after you are don'e with it you can sell it right back. The proffesors here aren't just people who couldnt get another job, many of them are people who are realy passionate about thei work. Also, the best part is Foothills awesome transfer statistics (meaning lots of people transfer to really good schools.)

Great Junior college with a large variety of classes but it's located on the top of a hill which is also a tiring climb every morning. The professors are knowledgeable and the food is also pretty good (especially the smoothies). Just hated walking up the steep slope in heels every day.

Has an awesome observatory that is open to the public. Knowledgeable professors and interesting courses. Also offers a youth program, known as the Academically Talented Youth Program (ATYP) that allows junior high students to take classes at Foothill after scoring above a certain score on the SAT.

Foothill College right off of Hwy 280 in Los Altos, is in a very convenient location for the commuter. The college is located on the top of a steep hill, which offers some challenges in terms of that most of the studnt parking is located at the bottom of the hill so there is a very steep climb in mostly 85-95 degree temperatures, to get to the college. Except for that, the college offers some very good vocational technical courses, such as Dental Hygenist, Vetrinary Tech, and Biotechnology Tech. They also have their own astronomical observatory which is open to the public on certain nights.
