Extremely Unprofessional
North Laurel Animal Hospital used to be a great place. Then Dr. Bob brought in some extra help. Andrew Cohn, he calls himself the "Practice Manager". He is extremely rude to the staff, and to the clients. In addition, they require many unnecessary testing, and the hospital is very over priced. Front end staff and technicians have always been great, but the practice will fail due to the unprofessional "Practice Manager" and rising prices. I will never go back, along with a couple of my friends.

BEWARE of North Laurel Animal Hospital
by Anonymous A.
Wow...where to begin...the staff is rude, it's the longest wait ever which is never good when your waiting w/your sick pet, overpriced and request tests that are not necessary (I guess this is just another way to get more money). This practice seems more interested in getting your money than the welfare/health of your pet. I still can't get beyond the incredibly unprofessional staff. If you have questions, they act like you are completely putting them out of the way. I also witnessed one of the girls yelling at one of the cats they have roaming the office and stuck the cat in a cage for no reason at all! So NOT animal friendly...beware!

We Love NLAH Dr. Bob and Dr Kris
by Barry C.
I have been seeing the NEW Doctor at North Laurel Animal Hospital, I think it's Dr. Kris. She has a wonderful personality, and she has already shown us that she fits in quite well. Her approach to our sick dog was wonderful. She handled her with great care and respect. The work up done by her was right on. Once we determined the severity of her problem, she referred us to a specialist that took over, and we promptly started Chemo for her. SO far, so good! We were a little apprehensive when we first met her, since we had been seeing Dr. Bob for a few years, but he wasn't available and Dr. Kris was, so we gave her a shot. We hope she stays there! She's a great addition to the hospital.

North Laurel Animal Hospital is not great
by private p.
They seem to be getting too busy at NLAH. In the beginning I loved the service. At first we felt that they really took the time to answer all of our questions. We were customers for 5 years and we felt that they spent less and less time with each pet. Dr. Bob and Dr. Maltby are both great vets, but it was just too expensive, and most importantly there just didn't seem to be time to address all of our concerns. Also, the front desk staff can be unfriendly and short.

BUTCHER VET
by Denise H.
My cat had a botched surgery at NLAH! No one should take their pets to this person. Not only does he overcharge for procedures and have tests performed that are not necessary, his staff is extremely rude! I've been there several times and I am sad not only at the botched surgery which now my cat has to have redone! but I'm disgusted w/myself for the money that I gave this person. I would NEVER RECOMMEND them to anyone! Please, please, please take your animals to someone who cares! My new vet said his surgery was (and I quote), "This is borderline animal cruelty." DON'T TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!

Best in the area
by Ronnie R.
My family started with Dr. Bob years ago when we moved here from N.J. and had a sick pet. We called him late in the afternoon and we were able to be seen the same day,we had called 2 other hospitals and were told that we would have to wait over the weekend to be seen since we were new to the area. He took his time to completely examine our dog. His staff was very helpful when it came to us going to the office on a weekly basis for treatments for our dogs long term ear problems. We were amazed that he was able to clear up our dogs ear problems which had been plaquing him for over 3 years. The front desk staff has changed over the years, and so have the technicans, but everyone there has been supportive of us, and our dogs needs. We eventually lost our friend, but have since gotten a new dog and we continue to take her there. I would recommend this place to anyone who cares about their pets...they always try to work us in when we had a problem in the past, even late in the evening

From bad to great
by Donna W.
My first impression of the North Laurel Animal Hospital was less then stellar. The staff were kind and warm when I arrived and the Technician spent time asking questions and noting my concerns for Rascal, my 10 year old golden I was then seen by Dr. Adsit. She seemed like she knew what she was talking about but she kept talking down to me, like I was completely incompetent. I don't think this is any way to treat the people who allow your business to thrive.I went back about a week ago for a follow up visit and was seen this time by Dr. Bob, who I found out is the owner, upon my visit. We struck up a witty conversation and I just felt much better about the whole experience. Dr. Bob really included me in the medical decisions and made sure I completely understood everything he was talking about. He also informed me that Dr. Adsit is longer with the practice because there were simply too many complaints like the one I just registered. Yes his prices are a bit up there but I would gladly pay the asking price for the attention to detail and compassionate environment which they maintain. They will have me coming back as long as Rascal is still kicking!

VERY Expensive, good vet
by Anonymous B.
We have been clients of Dr Bob's for over a decade. We have found Dr. Bob to be an excellent compassionate vet.
However, we have found that they order many tests and workups that are unnecessary and expensive.
The staff is not as friendly or compassionate> They do not reflect Dr Bob's good nature and the office manager is rude and crude.
Would not recommend due to cost and staff.

Good vet
by Vera C.
Dr. Bob has cared for our animals through sickness & health. As a multiple pet owner, 4 dogs and one cat, we were in his office frequently. He was compassionate and kind. We were with his practice for about 10 yrs.

Most caring vet I have ever met
by Anonymous A.
Dr. Bob is the most caring vet I have ever met. He truly loves animals and goes out of his way to help them and comfort their families. He is quite expensive compared to other vets I have had. His front desk staff seems to be mainly interested in collecting money. If you can get past the money issues with the staff, North Laurel is the best animal hospital ever.

Incredibly caring people
by C B.
We moved recently to the area from out-of-state. Our 15 yr old cat came us. She had been diagnosed with thymoma 18 months ago. When she seemed to be losing her usual fun self, we needed to find a local vet to find out what was going on. I found Dr Bob at North Laurel Animal Hospital. Our cat had one visit there with tests done. She deteriorated rather quickly and we had to put her down. When my husband called about this, he asked if Dr Bob could come to our home. The answer was "yes." We expected a couple more weeks with our cat, but she started going down hill quickly. We called Dr Bob's office early on a Friday morning and he and a staff member came to our home to put our cat to sleep. We received flowers from the office Monday morning.

Lose of a dog.
by Kathy A.
Approximately 3 years ago, we had a male cocker spaniel for 11 years. Dr Bob & Dr Kathleen discovered skin bump around his nose and performed necessary tests. The also removed skin, which turned out to be a form of cancer. He was healing very well and acting normals as can be. Well, mid July that year on Sunday morning Scamper wasn't acting right, he went out in the grass & flopped. Not normal. We ended up taking him to Catsonville ER since Dr Bob was closed. The ER ran several tests and x-rays. Needless to say, the cancer spread to his lungs. He was our "child" and was special in our life. Scamper, deteriorated very quickly while we were in the ER. He wouldn't have made it thru the night, so we decided to put him to sleep so he wouldn't suffer any longer. This was a very very difficult decision for us. Catsonville ER Center faxed info to Dr Bob about our loss. The next day Dr. Bob called me at my office to give his sympathy to us. He was very surprise what had happened and didn't realize the cancer spread to the lungs. Scamper was certainly a special cocker spaniel in our eyes as well as Dr Bob's office. We often think of Scamper. We were able to get over our loss in time. In Dec after the Christmas holidays, we got our current member of house "Ginger". She too is a cocker spaniel, but red in color. She is currently 3 yrs old. Although Scamper is truly missed, Ginger brings a lot of sunshine to our life. We are seeing Dr Bob for Ginger as well. We've know Dr Bob & staff for 14 years. We really like them. He and staff spend time with you & your pet for visits. We've recommended he & his office quite often. Dr Bob is a very caring individual.

I have two golden retrievers that I've taken to North Laurel Animal Hospital since we moved to the area. They both have had allergies, and I had spent years trying to get it under control for my older dog. The vets here finally put her on the prescription dog food that she needed and the quality of life for both dogs have greatly improved. Dr. Bob has done surgery on both of my dogs, and saved one with Lyme disease. The care they've given my dogs has been great.
The vets and the staff have been friendly and supportive. They know us when we call and are always willing to accommodate our schedules.
