Best chocolates

by lona c. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,724

This place is the best place to get handmade chocolates. They're displayed like little jewels in glass cases as are the pastries available. They have a small limited menu that you can order from. The only thing is that the seating is all outside so if it rains get stuff to go.

Delightful Delicious Tea House

by Nicole F. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,191

Jin Patisserie is a wonderful hidden tea house right on Abbot Kinney. It's unique and peaceful atomsphere is perfect for a relaxing afteroon with friends. The menu offers more than just tea packages, you can also order quiches and salads if you want more than just sweets. They have a fabulous bakery with to die for deserts. The prices were reasonable, only about $18 for a complete Afternoon Tea. Make sure to get something with their homemade cream....it's wonderful!

Perfect ... just don't let it rain ....

by S & B L. | insider Insider | Rank: 16,341

This relaxing atmosphere is perfect for your afternoon tea and specialty pastries ... just don't let it rain. There are no inside tables so when it rains you have to take your order to go. It's still nice but not the same.

A Hidden Treat

by Amy F. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,502

Tucked away behind a fence, you may walk by this pastry shop ten times before you notice it. It has an attractive orange sign out front though, which you may be able to spot sooner than I did.

A lovely unpretentious courtyard complete with fountain greets you as you enter the shop. The pastries are beautifully and unusually displayed in display cases built into the walls, as if the pastries were museum pieces.

The shop's name accurately reflects both the French and Asian influence in the desserts. Flavor-wise, they don't have as much Asian influence as I had hoped for, nor as much intensity, but they were still quite good and so beautiful I could hardly bear to destroy them with my fork. The pastries are fairly expensive, at about $5 each for a fairly small portion, but all purchases are exquisitely wrapped and would make a great unique gift.
