Downtown Yarns

Wonderful craft/fabric shop. I think I like this one better than the Rag Shop because it's bigger and has more items. They stock more regularly and have more discounts. The only thing bad about this is the location--it's a little far for me. But, every now and then I like to drive down and check out there stuff. Another thing about this place is that they are adequately staffed, which means you don't wait on a long line with only one cashier as at the Rag shop.

Rita owns this wonderfully cozy yarn store. I have been going to this store since it opened in 2001. There is a wide variety of yarns, a great collection of patterns and every imaginable notion or needle you could need. Frank is the adorable golden retriever who keeps Rita company. It's worth a visit just to say hi to Frank. Rita is incredibley helpful and very generous with her time. If you have never knit before make this store your first stop.
