Whole Foods Market

This place is really a great store if you have a lot of money to spend on food, which I don't. They have a great salad bar and some really good soups and pre-made meals. Worth a trip if you are too lazy to cook and don't want fast food.

Despite the priciness, this national chain is a consistent provider of quality organic and natural foods. Initiated in Austin texas, the chain has spread throughout the united states and provides an excellent selection of everthing from organic fruits and vegetables to meats and cheeses. They highlight local producers and do a great job promoting a different type of food purchase. A bit pricey but worth it

PROS: deli,parking, selection, value, promtion of solid food values
CONS: tight parking lot... but at least theree is parking!

No doubt if you live in San Francisco you already know Whole Foods Market. The first SF location is in Pacific Heights but the newer South of Market location (4th and Harrison) is even better! It has a great prepared foods section so you can pick up dinner on your way home from work. It also has a wonderful seafood selection and fresh butcher and fruits to die for!
