Be careful if you pay with a CC, My cabby took my # and put 2 additional charges on it. One was at 7-11 for sixty bucks (which is stupid in itself)This happened TWICE !!

The worst
by Marcia S.
I have to agree with the person who said the dispatch is the worst - I just tried to have a cab pick me up for a trip to the airport. I asked for 6:45 a.m. - the woman said she'd request for 6:15 a.m. - I said I wouldn't be ready, she said okay then I'll put 6:30 and they will be late....
She had the worst attitude in the world, my tuff luck.

Absolutely the WORST!!!
by Jody H.
My company has been sending several hundred dollars worth of business a day, six days a week, to Yellow Cab of Seattle. One of our customers used a different cab company, and Yellow Cab tried to get us to pay for the fare. I refused because I hadn't called Yellow Cab of Seattle for that customer. An employee of Yellow Cab of Seattle called me and threatened to send the police to arrest me! My company does not have a contract with Yellow Cab of Seattle. We have been referring customers to them as a courtesy. We will not be doing that any more.

Nice drivers, lousy dispatch
by Melusine 6.
I have placed calls to Yellow Cab to arrange for a cab and often found the dispatcher did not have the concept of courteous customer service very firmly in mind. As soon as you try to get clarification of something, they get snippy. If other dispatchers are better, then when calling for a cab, you might want to go elsewhere. However, for flagging down cabs on the street, I've taken Yellow Cab many times and found the drivers helpful, friendly, and considerate. One driver refused to take a tip when the cab had been paid for by Amtrak because our train was hours late (I guess he didn't want to charge Amtrak extra, nor did he want us to have to pay a tip). One cab saw my sister and me flagging him down late at night, called his company and made sure another cab was close enough to pick up the fare he had been on the way to, and gave us a ride so we wouldn't have to wait around at night--even though we weren't going that far. I used to take Far West because that's what my company paid for when people worked late, and I did not have as good experiences with those drivers. Some of them actually made me feel uneasy. I also know the problems cab drivers get from customers are at least as bad as the problems the problems we sometimes experience with cab drivers! This is one of the most hazardous job occupations there is, and Seattle cab drivers have had their share of violence and even murders. As far as the drivers go, let's try to be understanding of ordinary problems like traffic, and tip well.
Updated after a dreadful dispatch experience: I had to get my cat home from the vet and called Yellow Cab thinking this would be faster than the bus. I placed the call, explained I had a cat and waited quite a while, then called again. The dispatcher then said they still hadn't found someone and they'd get right on it. I was very clear that my cat was quite sick and they needed to either take care of it right away or advise me they couldn't. 20 minutes later I started walking to the bus (I had missed the bus I would have caught if I hadn't waited for Yellow Cab, but I realized waiting for the next one was probably going to be faster than waiting for Yellow Cab). I also called dispatch, and the dispatcher again said, oh, we'll try to find you something "right away." I said don't bother and took the bus home. My cat died the next day--waiting around in the cold for a cab certainly didn't help her any. Don't call these people if you want a reliable dispatch--review downgraded to two stars due to lousy dispatch, although I still think Yellow Cab drivers are mostly nice and they are fine to flag down.

in seattle, wa, i use the taxi for transportation on an almost daily basis. i have tried the red cab, the orange cab, and even some blue cabs. overall, though, i would have to say that the yellow cab gives the best overall service in the cab business. each driver that i have had, are always very customer friendly and great conversationalists. also, the drivers always know exactly where i am heading to just by the name of the building or place by which i wish to be transported to. therefore, i always, without hesitation, give such a big tip because i absolutely love the service by which i have received by the driver. the rates are very cheap compared to the los angeles cab fares. therefore, if you are in seattle, then the yellow cab would be best out of the other cab companies.

Nothing upsets me more than bad service. Yellow cab should be called yellow crap!. Just because they have cornered the market on livery service in downtown should not mean that they should bleed people dry. I visited Vietnam and a taxi cost 1$ and the cost of gas was the same there. Granted Seattle is not Vietnam but the fact is the guy spent about 1.00 worth of gas and pocketed 14$ then wanted a 20% tip.

Yellow Cab is standard on price but excels
at the quality of your transportation. The owner
of this company believes in service although
each cab is independently owned. Tell
them Noven sent you and watch what
kind of excellent service you will receive.
