3 Stars: CLOSED THE BUSINESS!! (by Donna S.)

I just found out that this company has closed for business. I used them for a project a while back and was pleased with their work and was going to get an estimate from them for a new project I am thinking about. I have also used Closet & Storage Concepts and they did a great job. I will start using them exclusively from now on.

3 Stars: Mistakes, Mistakes... (by Nicole B.)

We didn't pick them, they were the subcontractors for a large, nation-wide home improvement store. And, we had to pay beforehand... which was unfortunate because we couldn't back out when we were disappointed.

A man from the company came out and measured 4 windows for plantation shutters. Two and a half weeks later, they were made and the installers were coming to put them in. Two very nice men came... they started drilling holes, messing up drywall... then just to tell me that NONE of the 4 windows the guy measured, fit right. So they had to re-order them and I had to wait yet another week.

And they left... leaving me with holes in my wall and a drywall mess. And now, having been truly disappointed, I couldn't pull out because I had paid and they wouldn't refund my money through the national home improvement store...

So a week later, I get my new plantation shutters. These covered some, not all, of the drywall mishaps before. Crowne Closets was supposed to send "their" drywall/paint guy to fix some places. We are still waiting... and in the midst of everything.... I guess as a nice gesture, we are offered one of our old plantation shutters (one that didn't fit) to put (for free) on another window... nice gesture, he puts one up... and mishandles the drill and breaks our window...

It's now been 2 weeks since that incident, and my window still isn't fixed. This whole process has been nearly a 6 week fiasco... wasting my time!

5 Stars: They build it for you - closets, beds, shelving (by Bonnie R.)

Crowne Closets (formerly Classy Closets) can do anything. If you have an idea, a designer will work with you to bring it alive. If you don't have an idea, you can visit their showroom and steal one of theirs! Their prices are reasonable and they have done 3 unique projects for me. They made my closet into a media room and built shelves all the way up to the 14 ft. ceiling where I house all the media -- cds, video tapes, DVDs, albums, cassettes. They made a long desk along one wall in my kitchen which holds two computers and has niches for the the CPUs, pull out shelves for the printer and recorders, plus desk drawers and holes in the top for the cords. There are cabinets with doors and also open shelving to match above the desk (which is about 10 ft. long) and has spaces for two rolling chairs. The third project was to make another long computer desk in my son's room, with shelving above for books and toys and it covers the entire wall of the desk plus continues around the corner to the depth of the desk. Below that is a captain's bed with four drawers which is connected to the right corner of the desk and at the end, still connected is a dresser with 3 drawers. So the bedroom is almost fully furnished. All we added was his computer chair, a recliner and a mattress to put atop the captain's bed.

PROS: The work was done quickly, reasonably and cleanly.
CONS: There was nothing that could make me switch companies.
