Chaplin's VW

I will NEVER go here again.

I went in last week b/c I needed my car serviced and my check brake pad light came on. I mentioned the light when I made the appointment and I mentioned it 2 more times when I dropped it off. Each time they said theyd take a look at my breaks. When I went to pick up my car I asked if theyd checked my breaks and they said they did. This was Wednesday. Friday, the light came back on again.

Okay, so I live in Seattle but work in Bellevue and Chaplins provides a shuttle to and from work so thats why I went here so I didnt have to take time off of work. I normally ride the bus b/c gas is so freaking expensive.

SO, I called them on Monday and said that my light came back on and asked AGAIN if they even checked the breaks and they said that they did a general inspection but didnt check the pads and that I should come back in and have them take a look at it. This is such a freaking inconvenience for me since I normally take the bus and I have to get up extra early to take the freaking car in blah, blah, blah. So now they want to charge me the outrageous amount of $450 to fix my break pads I THINK NOT!

Ive already gotten second and third opinions from contacts I have and they said they are def. trying to d*ck me over.

I bought my VW from Chaplins and I was really happy with the service I got from them. My car was used and before they would let me take it home they did many inspections and took care of a very small ding in the door panel. I took it back there on a few occasions to have it fixed and they were great...until this summer. My cruise control had stopped working as had my radio. I made and appointment and took my car in and got a loaner car as they didn't know how long it would be. Well, 2 weeks later I still hadn't heard from them, and no one in the service department would return my messages. I finally had to call VW USA to get some service. I got my car back after 3 weeks, but it still wasn't fixed and I ended up having to take it back 2 more times! They were not great. I had been so pleased with them, but now I won't take my car back...it's too much of a hassel.

I was looking to buy a VW Jetta and visited this dealership because it was conveniently located in Bellevue. When I walked into the dealership, I perused the cars for several minutes, without ever being asked if I wanted any help. When I was finally helped, and later inquired about price, there was very little flexibility in the brief discussion, to the point that the sales manager bid me farewell once he realized I wanted it for a couple of hundred dollars less than the initially proposed price.

It's an easy I-90 freeway exit. The people
are great. No high pressure sales either.
