Dr. Mark Marin

Doc has been my primary care physician for several years. I can't say enough good things about him and his staff. I recall one time he called me several weeks after seeing him for a swollen gland. He wanted to make sure all was good. I have never, ever had a doctor call me to check up on me. He's also a straight shooter - which is nice.

It's not the worst experience ever but I wouldn't recommend Dr. Marin to anyone. There has only been one visit I've had where I felt he was friendly or even cared to be helping me. The first few times it felt like he was doing me a huge favor by seeing me. He wasn't rude, per se, he just seemed bored. He didn't even examine me and said to just call him if it was still painful in two weeks. I didn't know what 2 weeks was going to improve since I'd had the pain for a few months. A friend of mine once told me about a doctor she'd seen who she didnt' like at all. He didn't examine her, either, and treated her like it was all in her head. I jokingly asked, "It wasn't Dr. Marin, by any chance, was it?," thinking of course there's no way it'd be the same doctor in all of San Francisco. "Yes! Oh my gosh!" was her reply.

Also, though in person they are fine, his staff is very rude on the phone. Every time I call them, they are rude to me. I just now called about a prescription that was faxed (b/c the pharmacy told me to) and she practically bit my head off. One of my New Year's resolutions will definitely be to change doctors.

I think Dr. Mark Marin is a fantastic doctor. Dr Mark was referred to me by a friend and I have not been disappointed. His knowledge and casual manner is very relaxing. He is Very friendly doctor that listens and is "patient". He is understanding, tells it like it is, and sympathetic to pain. There is no "suck it up" attitude, and he is great at explaining what medication and therapies will do for you.

Dr. Marin is a world class doctor - very rare to find such a professional and caring bedside manner as his. He takes his time with you. I was suffering from something nobody could diagnose, and he researched it after seeing me in the first visit. I am now on a course of treatment that manages my condition and am no longer in enormous pain (after 4 Drs. who couldn't find anything wrong!) Once you step inside the office, you're made feel at home by Chris and the rest of the front office staff. If the doctor has no openings at the time you call, you can also see his equally wonderful Drs. assistant, Kay. This is the way a Drs. visit should be - I would recomend him to anyone.

Dr. Mark Marin is a good doctor. He has a good heart and loves his patients! He is a pleasure to go to. Even my kids don't mind our visits - imagine that?! :)

Dr. Mark Marin is a wonderful, all around general practicioner in the heart of the financial district. I have referred 10+ people to him and everyone has said wonderful things. He is nice, has a reassuring bedside manner, and is quite approachable and genuine. I wouldn't think of going to anyone else unless necessary - a wonderful general practitioner!!
