Jorve Roofing is worthless, guarantee is sh*t!

by Denita B.

Had Jorve install new roof and new gutters in 2008. Gutter crew (2 guys) worked for several hours after nightfall, w/o lights, refusing to leave when asked. I later complained to foreman who sent different gutter crew - they spent several hours doing the work that was left to be done or undoing and redoing the work again. Nonetheless, the new gutters leak. Rain pours out like waterfalls in several places. Have telephoned Jorve several times. Receptionist tells me someone will call me back. No-one ever calls back and gutters continue to leak. Do not hire Jorve. Their guarantee is worthless!!!

Thanks for a great job!

by Hans A.

we called several roofers, 2 of them actually got back to us. After talking to both contractors the choice was easy. We had Jorve install the roof and gutters, they were on time, fair price and did a very great job. we would reccomend Jorve to anyone looking to have a roof installed. Great communication and hard working crew. Thanks Jorve!

GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!

by terry h.

GREAT EXPERIENCE! We live in a 20 year old all shake roof neighborhood in mukilteo and everyone is roofing, most going to comp. After seeing a roof put on our neighbors house in back of us by a local roofer we were pretty worried about having this done for us. The roofers were swearing back and forth to each other, enjoying a rock concert from their boom box, and were less than appealing with their shirts off. We talked to many of our Friends that have worked with contractors and many talked about or knew about Jorve. After meeting with many roofers Jorve did stand out as being Knowledgeable, prompt and professional so we went with Jorve. from the start it was a very good experience. The foreman Oscar was very comforting in addressing all of our concerns on a daily basis backed by a field supervisor Jay, that also stopped by to check on things. The Crew was all in Jorve shirts, polite and wore safety ropes (something we haven't seen in the area). Well in 3 short days our new roof, skylights, fascia and gutters were done!!! Turns out there is a difference in roofers, our roof is one of the best looking ones on the street (our neighbors tell us) and we have to agree. After all is said and done Jorve was the best choice that we could have made, in fact our new Migard windows just got delivered and Jorve is going to install them next, cant wait! More good news to follow. Thanks Jorve.

jorve is great

by jason h.

I have a Jorve Roof and love it. We had a project manager make a full inspection of our roof, help us understand what we needed and make an estimate. The price was inline with other contractors doing similar work (the cheep guys were cutting corners). The installation went well, very nice, hardworking guys on the Jorve team. The roof looks great! I recommend these guys, worth every penny.

Jorve set my house on fire for $7000

by Anonymous

Initially, my impression of Jorve was good. The estimate was higher than most but everyone was extremely pleasant, from the inspector to the scheduler to their receptionist. We chose them in spite of the price due to their reputation and warranty.

They recommended a torchdown roof on a dormer on the back of our 1924 house as it was relatively flat compared to the rest of the house. We agreed to the $13K estimate and the recommendations and paid a 10% downpayment to get work started.

Work started the following week, and all went well until the last day of work. My husband received a call from Jorve telling him our roof was on fire, that they didn't know the extent of the damage or even if the fire was out, but was on his way to our house.

We arrived to find 3 fire trucks, and our street blocked off by policemen. We weren't allowed in for an hour while they cut holes in the roof and sprayed foam on everything to make sure the fire was out. Apparently while finishing the torchdown roof a fire had started inside the attic and as the wood is ~80 years old, the fire spread very quickly.

The end result of all of this? The lathe and plaster walls and ceilings were destroyed, our entire upstairs has been gutted to studs, the roof has to be completely torn off, wiring on the main floor needs to be replaced, we have large holes drilled in the walls on our main floor to prevent mold growth, and some ceilings and walls on the main floor will probably need repairs as well. In total, >$100K damage.

At the scene, Scott Morrison (VP of Jorve) apologized profusely for the damage, and said they would "do right by us".

It's been two months since the fire. We've lost irreplaceable family photos, spent countless hours going through clothing, itemizing lost possessions, estimating the worth of things like tupperware and linens, we don't have all of our clothing, and have had to move into an apartment but have to return to our house to keep up the yard. It is a total headache and will be so for another 4-6 months while our upstairs is rebuilt.

What, you ask, has Jorve done to "do right" by us? They sent us a check for $1000 to pay our insurance deductible (which, I believe, they have to do legally). That's it. From our perspective, we've paid nearly $7K for Jorve to destroy the upper story of our house and our belongings, and to deal with a 6 month headache. We asked for our money back as compensation and were told no as technically we'll have a roof at the end of all of this, not to mention upgrades to get our house up to code. What a bargain!

I am appalled and insulted by this rationale. I would gladly have paid the full $13K to avoid this having to deal with all of this.

My final thought? If everything goes well Jorve will be fine. However, from comments I've read here, their customer service skills are sorely lacking and they will NOT take care of you if anything goes wrong.

NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER

by Johnathan P.

I recently had a sales rep from the Jorve Corp out on my property. He reminded of a car sales man. He didn't even get on my roof. How can you do a inspection without getting on my roof. Not Very Impressed At All

Good Service

by Tony D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,469

Last year, Jorve came by and did a free inspection of our roof. They were honest about its condition and didn't try to talk us into services we didn't need. I've also heard from others that they do good work. I suggest calling them up for the free estimate, especially if you're a new homeowner.

PROS: free estimate
CONS: none that I've seen

Tops

by Baxter B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,475

I met the owner of Jorve when they were located on Marginal Way in Seattle. I was impressed. He is a fine young man who knows that customer service is the key to his success. Over the years I have seen them grow and expand and I know it is because they offer the best in roofing, quality components and they stand behind their word.

Seattle King of Roofs

by Alex S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,721

I think most people know that Jorve is
probably the king of roofing contractors
in Seattle. They recently moved to Bellevue
but cover all the Seattle metro. The owner
really knows his business and customer
service.
