I go to soma almost every weekend. they always have great bands playing, and a great crowd to get the party started. Their audio and lighting is just awesome and always adds excitement. I totally recommend soma for a great music lover hang out. Just be careful when it comes to the hardcore shows;)

I saw the Academy Is along with We The Kings last month. It was a lot of fun. No audio mess up, crowd was awesome, and the bands were rocking! And it didnt feel like an oven in the venue.

I saw a Death Cab for Cutie concert here. It surprised me that it was in the corner of a tiny ugly looking plaza. The place was medium sized to my surprise. It looked like a factory with a stage in front. The prices for concerts differ, but I thought $20 was a fair deal for a concert.

The Soma is a great little operation that hosts concerts in comparatively small spaces. Local and small visiting bands play here for admission prices that are a great deal. It's a favourite spot for a lot of high school and college students. I've been to their larger room to see Switchfoot and a smaller room for a concert put on by a medley of smaller bands. Souvenir stands are usually set up in the lobby throughout the evening so fans can buy merchandise to support their favourite musicians.

SOMA is located down the street from its larger cousin, the Sports Arena. Most of the bands that play here are trying to make a name for themselves, but SOMA also features popular names like Modest Mouse and the Killers. The venue is standing room only, and has an intimate and edgy feel. There is plenty of parking in adjoining lots.

I went here to see a concert, it was the Band Joust. It was the coolest concert ever. The bands were sweet and the atmosphere was crazy. I liked the small location and kind of undergound feel, it was cool. This place is really cool and next concert they have im there for sure.

This place has world class rock bands in almost every week. The stage is about face level and the floor is big enough to hold around a thousand people. The only gripe is that there is no ventilation, so if the crowd gets into the band, the temperature will hit triple digits. The speakers are very large and the sound is great.

Its still a good place to see bands you like but its still not great. With no ventilation its almost like being cooked with a band. The floor is slanted so that people in the back can see which is cool.

I was let down when I went to a concert at this venue. The one thing I did like is that the floor is slanted so even people in the back can see the band but that was the only positive thing. There is nowhere to get water and it gets so hot because the ventilation is very bad. I was so dehydrated I felt like I was about to pass out. The sound was not that good especially if you are in the center because it is impossible to hear the vocals in the center area.

messy, dilapidated, crowded--three words that can summarize soma. this place is terrible but is seeming the only venue bands like to come to. it gets ridiculously crowded on their mainstage. the sidestage is the only redeeming aspect of soma. it's the only stage where you can actually see the bands.

This is a great place to see many good bands play. I really like all of the venue's and even though it is many times very crowded it can be very fun. Most of the time this place is packed, so buy your tickets early!

PROS: Great venues.
CONS: Small location.

i like soma.. they book good bands and i like how its not an awfully big place. yea, the place is like an oven sometimes.. but the water can cool you down in no time. they sell tickets at a reasonable price.. even for the bigger bands. Check it out for yourself... it's alot better than most venues.

Soma is great because they book good shows, however it gets EXTREMELY hot in there! I recommend buying some water in between performances, so brign a few extra bucks. Also it is super crowded usually. Other than that it is fun. I saw Thrice there and t was one of the best shows I've been to.

When I heard that the legendary Soma was reopening its doors, I got all giddy inside. However, when i actually went to a show here, I was let down. The venue is horrible. Through out the entire show, you will be burning up because it seems like there in no ventilation. The guards are pretty rude and don't care about anything what you want. But the thing that soma has that other venues don't have are the big acts. You can find bands from Taking Back Sunday to Modest Mouse here. I do like their lunatix where you can print out tickets for a small fee but I dislike soma. You should add a seating area or something. Make it better.
