my insurance changed with the new year causing me to have to seek another eye doctor. Just got new glasses at Wal Mart in Dec 2011. But, I mainly wear contact lenses. They said that the power in my glasses needed to be increased to the tune of $657 .. plus an additional $129 for the contact lense exam with trial pair. Left there and scheduled appt with a new doctor and found out that I do not have to have my power increased in my glasses - also they only wanted $39 for the contact lense exam with a free trial pair. (Eye Consultants of Atlanta)
Please do not go here -- they just want your money - they are nice but really don't care about what's best for their patients - just their bottom line.

This office knows NOTHING about customer service! First, they called me to schedule my annual eye exam. So, I made an appointment. At the time I made the appointment they asked if my insurance had changed. I told them that it had and that I was now with Humana. They said that was all they needed to know and they would see me for my appointment. Then, the day before my appointment they called to get my insurance information. I tried to give them the group number and plan number over the phone but they claimed they could not find my information that way and that they needed my husband's social security number instead. I told them I did not know my husband's social and I refused to call my husband and force him to give me his ssn over the phone and then call their office back and give his ssn to them over the phone. I told her that since she would not take my insurance info over the phone she would have to wait until I got to the office for my appointment. On the day of my appointment I showed up with my insurance card that shows all the information they need. However, they refused to accept my insurane unless I provided my husband's ssn. I even offered to call Humana for them with the number on the back of the card but they still refused saying they absolutely had to have my husband's ssn. Of course, I questioned this because my husband is not even a patient here. He has NEVER been to this eye doctor. But, the receptionist REFUSED to accept my insurance or even call Humana to confirm it. Advice to anyone needing an eye doctor: DO NOT GO HERE!

I was writing a long and detailed explanation of my situation and even though it is way under the 5000 characters authorized it would not accept it so here is a watered down version. BLUF: Angel lied to me and told me she would not charge me for an eye exam they had to redo since they gave me the wrong prescription. She told me she would do the eye exam for free since I had to deploy to Iraq shortly after getting my glasses. When she found out the insurance company would pay to redo the lenses she told me I had to pay for the eye exam before she would reorder my new lens. I had VSP insurance and they were not happy with the case but told me that they couldn??t control Mobley Eye Care and how they did business. VSP said the most they could do is try to get Mobley Eye Care off their program by writing up some reports, which she did. I sure hope they get dropped as a provider as that would teach them how important customer service is. In my opinion, Angel has no type of customer service skills and should not be the GM of that operation. If the owner can??t see that, then he is either blind or Angel has something over him.

I took a brand new pair of Oakley sunglasses here to have proscreption lenses put in them. I had check on Oakley's web page if they Rx for that frame, and they did, and if they did that their lab could make a set. So I hand them over to Mobley Eye care. I get them back and the frames are twisted and bent, also one of the lenses was not seated in the lense pocket all the way. They told me that they could fix it. So I sat there and watch this lady take a pair of pliers and start trying to twist a new pair of O Matter (plastic) glasses. She does nothing but put a gouge the the fram where she had the pliers. I pointed it out to her and she said she didn't. Know if that wasn't already there. Then she called the manager "Angel" and came back and told me that they couldn't warrenty the frams because I didn't buy them there and that it was I problem to see if Oakley could replace. The next day I called and talked to Angel and she basicly blamed it on me. She told since I told her the Oakley did make a proscription lense for it was on me, as if I told her a lie. Later in the conversation she said that Oakley does make a perscription lense for them but not in my proscription. So I asked her why wouldn't you call me a tell me that these frams will not work and to try a different on. But instead you went ahead and forced some lenses in the frame and messed the frams up. She then hung up on me. I was told I could get my $ for the lenses but nothing for the frames. When I went to pickup the frames I said I wish I could get an answer to why you put a lense in a frame when it wouldn't work to one of the other employees and out of the corner Angle says I need to leave, then has them call the cops. It pretty bad when a company has to get the cops involved because the can answer a question on their screw up. DON'T GO HERE!

Bad vibe from the first step in the building. Phones ringing off the hook and not answered; staff seemed disoriented. Very outdated furnishings, carpet, and stations had laminate edging missing. Staff member came in late and was unprepared to work. The level of quality and professionalism was definitely in question. I decided that this was not the place for me, so I told them I had to leave. Disappointed because I went to school with the Dr.'s Daughter years ago.

I was satisfied with the examination done for my eyes with the doctor, but the customer service is terrible. The hours of operation are limited and not designed for the working class people. I purchased glasses from the Fayetteville location and the classes cost me over $500.00 and the coating put over glasses is terrible constant smearing and streaky. This is clearly a defect in this merchandise. I have made several attempts to get it corrected and this location wants to charge me an additional $100.00 to correct their error and not to mention keep my glasses for over a week. This isn't the way to get a referral or to keep your patients.

I take all 5 kids here and they do a very good job with exams and fittings, it is hard to get an appt. sometimes though. The staff is friendly and helpful and Dean the Optometrist is really nice.

Mobley Eye Care is a wonderful eye clinic for everyone. Dr. Mobley is very thorough and caring. The only downside is he is only open Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. No Saturday business. He has a very good team that has been with him for years. In many cases, you can walk out with your new glasses after only an hour! Takes VSP and other insurance programs. They carry a large selection of glasses frames and will help you with the frames that will work best for you and your lifestyle.

PROS: Friendly, caring, knowledgeable, good location
CONS: No early hours or Saturdays
