Farmer's Market at El Cerrito Plaza

Once I was there, and i had a couple of questions and there was nobody there to answer them. When I bought groceries, 3 days after, they were expired! The store is not so clean! The advertising might be nice but it is not in real life!

If you want some of the freshest produce then you have to come early to the El Cerrito's Farmer's Market. I go on saturday mornings located at the El Cerrito Plaza but they told me they are there on tuesdays too. The prices you can't beat and they're fresh too! The people are friendly and it does get busy at times.

The Farmer's Market in the El Cerrito Plaza is on Saturday mornings, and I believe Tuesday mornings too. They have a lot of great stands that sell mainly fruits and vegetables, but also some prepared items like baked goods, frozen foods, etc. The prices are good, and although they probably aren't as cheap as the Berkeley Bowl, it isn't nearly as crowded, so I would go to it for that reason alone.

If you are looking for a farmers market that is not that big but still has fresh fruits and vegetables then the El Cerrito Plaza Farmers market is the way to go. They have a fair amount of booths with a good variety and you won't run into a large crowd like you will at some of the other farmers markets.

Farmer's Market at El Cerrito Plaza has great prices on produce compared to supermarkets. You get fresh and cheap produce right from the garden. I eat more vegetables now that I know where to get them fresh. I go on Saturday mornings to get the best choices before everyone else gets there. Early bird gets the worm the saying is. They also have flowers from local florists too.

This farmer's market is held on Saturdays and Tuesdays in the southwest corner of the Plaza Parking lot. This is the perfect opportunity to buy fresh, organic produce and to buy directly from the farmer - eliminating the middle man. (This is good for the consumer AND the farmer as well.) The market tends to be bigger on Saturdays than on Tuesdays. Be sure to check out the flower stall for really CHEAP and excellent-quality roses. The "orchid man" is also a favorite at the market. There also tend to be other specialty items like honey, fresh pasta, freshly-made salsas, etc. Occasionally there will be a booth selling jewelry and sometimes there is live music.

PROS: Buy fresh, organic produce directly from the farmer!
CONS: Parking/parking lot can be difficult/hectic on market days. Best to walk.
