2 Stars: Disappointed (by Jennifer H.)

I kept hearing and reading what a terrific zoo SDZ is, and I was disappointed. I love zoos, so we had to stop in while visiting LA. If your goal is to see a FEW animals, you'll be satisfied and love it. But I like to see all the animals and they make it impossible. There's no direction to the zoo. Paths wind in all types of directions and on multiple levels, so you have to backtrack all day long. I can't tell you how many people we saw trying to figure out where they were on the useless maps they hand out. Not worth the money when I can go to other zoos for less and get more enjoyment.

5 Stars: World Class (by Susan X.)

I grew up in Washington, DC where my dad was curator at the National Zoo my whole life. So, I know zoos!! The San Diego Zoo is outstanding. It is worth every dime purchasing a zoo membership. In the summertime, we go to the nighttime zoo and enjoy the spectacular extras like the painters and the living statuary. Albert's Restaurant is great for a nice glass of wine and light meal, making it worth the visit all the more!

5 Stars: World class zoo (by T.R. G.)

The San Diego zoo is a world class zoo. The exhibits are built for the animals, not the spectators. You may not always see the animal, but it is the closest to the animals natural environments I have ever seen in a zoo. Check out the pandas!

5 Stars: Great Zoo (by Keri P.)

The San Diego zoo is very nice. It tends to be a little expensive but well worth the money. The exhibits are nicely maintained. There is such a large variety of animals the see. The ski ride was a lot of fun too. It was nice to see the zoo from so high in the air.Great place to go while in San Diego

5 Stars: San Diego Zoo - the biggest and brightest!! (by Debbie P.)

If you want to visit a zoo that is the end all, be all, to zoos, you can't miss the San Diego Zoo!!! It is so big, we couldn't see it in the one day that we had there!! It was just fabulous. There is such a wide variety of animals, and the habitat that these animals are kept in are just awesome. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, and you couldn't ask for a nicer place to have a zoo of this caliber. I highly recommend the San Diego Zoo!!!

4 Stars: ZOO (by Alana T.)

This zoo is pretty great. Make sure you wear tennis shoes because there is a lot of walking and many of it is at an incline. The exhibits are nice and well kept. It does get crowded but not to a point where it's unpleasant. The price of food inside the park isn't unreasonable, they have really great kids meals that include a free bucket - which is great if your kids can't eat the whole meal all at once or it's good for carrying those little suvinears. The gift shops are beautiful, a variety of gifts. Once a year they have a admission free day - it is worth going online and finding out when it is. Our family really enjoyed our time at the zoo. The often have special programs at night that are unique to the time of year so check that out too!!

the san diego zoo is a great place to take your kids for a day or two. they have some wonderful exhibits with lots of different animals from around the world, all in one place. they do a great job keeping the park clean, but the only thing i can't stand is the smell, which is probably what you think it is.

4 Stars: zoo (by Saam O.)

Prefect place for a family outing that is not only an enjoyable place to be at but also and educational place especially for young kids. The park is well kept and clean. There is a lot of parking and the area surrounding the park is just as great as the zoo itself.

5 Stars: Expesnive and worth every cent (by Carissa P.)

Go ahead and take the kids to the zoo, better yet take a date. The zoo has something for everyone and if you bring your own food its not too expensive. Make sure you plan all day if you've never been there, you'll want to see some shows and have time to check out all the great exhibits. On occassion the food can be adequate, but face it thats not why you go to the zoo, so park and go!

The Zoo is an amazing attraction for all ages. There are many exhibits filled with rare and endangered animals. The Panda exhibit is one of a kind, as well as the Polar Bears. The exhibits always have creative ways to show animals in their natural habitats.

5 Stars: An amazing zoological experience (by Quoc D.)

Thw San Diego zoo has to be one of the best zoo's in the world. They have dedicated thier zoological organization towards the preservation of animals and thier habitats. I could spend weeks in this place exploring all the different eco systems and bioms. The more popular exibits can be a little crowded at times but there are plenty of things to see off the beaten path.

5 Stars: San Diego Zoo (by Chi D.)

A world class zoo by every standard. A very nice place to take your family. The animal selection was complex and interesting. They cover many different types of environments and habitats. There are suppose to be 4000+ animals in this zoo I saw at least a few 100. You need at least 1 full day to enjoy this zoo.
