Friends of the Zoo

Great Zoo Great Price. Spent the entire day there. The vendors were a little expensive. Could use more shelters for zoo visitors to get out of the sun.

The zoo is a great place to spend a day.. They have done alot of improvements over the years and things are alot more hands on.. They have a nice selection of animals some even roaming free on the grounds.. Definately fun for the entire family.. Price is right they even have a train so you can still see everything even if you get tired of walking.. My only complaint is that the last time we were there there weren't very many animals on view.. You would think that they would have a way to view the animals even if they aren't outside

I have found that my family i\enjoys the zoo. They love seeing the animals especially the one that are out and about like the peacocks and ducks. WEalways have a great time and fell like we are fulfilled when we leave. The only thing is it seems like it is spread out more and you haveto walk a long way to get to one part or the other. There is the tram but to walk is a long distist. Would like to see more animals displayed and bigger cages for the larger animals example being the tigers. Poor tiger he jsut paced the whold time we were there . I felt bad for him

We have been friends of the zoo members for the past 3 years. It is a great activity for the family and kids.We try to go several times thru out the summer. They always have great special attractions during the summer.

We recenlty visited this zoo for the 1st time. I really did enjoy my visit to the zoo. They have a great reptile exhibit and lots of other great wild exotic animals too. The neighborhood was the scariest I think. We probabily will not return just because of the location of this zoo. It was not worth the $ to get in and the drive to get there.

This place has changed so much from when I was a kid. Back then it was kind of boring, but it's so much more interactive and fun now. I love the cafe near the entrance that has the peacocks walking around the area. It's really neat to look over and see one walking by while you're eating.

I remember growing up going to the zoo thinking it was so large, only later in my teenage years realizing that the zoo was very small and the animals were cramped. Then I went to the Kansas City Zoo with my son. this zoo practically needs two days to go through! It is so large, the animals have more of their own natural habitat than anyone could imagine. Acres upon acres of room for the larger than life animals. I have taken 2 trips to this zoo in the past year and a half, and plan on taking at least 4 more trips within the next year. Its educational for the kids and me and fun and cheap!

The animals were well kept, the white tigers were great. We bought a family pass for the year. The wrist bands for the train and tram are a must so you don't have to walk as much. The place is huge. My children who are 4, 8 and 8 really enjoyed the experience and we got some wonderful pictures of the animals.

The Friends of the zoo are really working on upgrading our zoo. When I was a child---it was looking kind of sad. Friends of the Zoo---along with the new Director (came from the Henry Doorly Zoo-Omaha) are working on more upgrades. There is a lot of walking(but this is true with most any zoo)---but transportation is available in some areas. The zoo is worth your time to see!

The KC Zoo is undergoing upgrades and renovations, and they are making some great progress. The work is not finished, but it is much better now than it was just a few short years ago.

The zoo is set up in "continents" and the animals found in each geographical area are displayed on that continent. The Africa exhibit has been the focus lately, and it is nearing completion. The lions have been moved over and now have lots of room to roam. The elephants have their own area and are often seen walking along a path alongside the tram that carries those who choose not to walk down to the exhibit area.

The Australia area is cool for kids - the kangaroos wander around free and always cause a squeal of delight with the little ones.

There is a small petting zoo and camel and pony rides too, and a train ride around the park.

Friends of the Zoo here also brings in special exhibits each year ... a couple of years ago it was Southern Stingrays. This year there is a white tiger on loan from the Omaha Zoo ... very nice animal to see.

KC isn't the best zoo I've ever been to, but it is coming along.

The zoo was a lot of fun and had a variety of animals. There was a lot to see but also a lot of walking. The zoo had many signs that were very helpful telling what was where. The zoo had a very cute concept with the different areas/continents that the animals were from.

The zoo offers not only animals but a large Imax theater. You can ride the train around the zoo and experience it in half the time of walking. See everything from polar bears, apes, and elephants to seals, peacocks, and goats. Group packages and specials available. Come early and stay all day. Bring your lunch or eat at one of the spots in the zoo.

It's hard to see everythin here in one day unless you go pretty early. They offer different sections of the world with animals for that particular part of the world. Their is also a petting zoo. Sometimes they even have animal rides like camels that they offer.

The zoo that covers a great amount of area. They have a lot of animals there and are from many countries. They have aquatic animals and a safari section where the animals are free to roam in a certain area. They usually have a seal show where a trainer demonstrates some of the abilities of the large seals. In the winter there are fewer animals but the light show and colorful decorations are beautiful, not a bad night to take someone with you and just walk around without the city noises bothering you.
