Costco

This store has really gone down hill since it opened several years ago. The store is over crowded, the parking lot crowded with carts all over, and the store dirty. I still go when I have to and hope they will revamp soon.

Among all the different warehouse type of stores, Costco is my favorite. The main reason is the selection of the items they carry. You can get the best value on tools, electronics, and certain specialty food products. On a good day, you can find good books and movies too. The selection changes constantly because they sell whatever they can get. This is not a place for grocery shopping. Not only due to the huge quantity you have to buy, but I also agree the grocery pricing is not any better than the local grocery store. But you go to Costco for big ticket items, and if you know what type of items to buy here, you can get the most use of your membership. They also have wonderful return policies. You can return anything they sell, and because most of the items are specifically packaged or manufactured for them, there is no doubt that they sold it. So they will accept the return even if you lost the receipt. The Costco plaza parking is very difficult, and the traffic is always busy. However, I still recommend them because I can get what I want at the price I want to pay. This particular location has less advantage because it does not have a gas station.

PROS: Great value and good selection on big ticket items and premium foods.
CONS: No gas station, heavy traffic, difficult parking, hard to get help.

Over the last few years, this store seems to have stopped having really good deals. The prices are not much better than the supermarket, worse if you haev a coupon, and the lines are forever. Sav eyourself the trip and shop at Giant.

Costco has wholesale prices...but at what cost?
The Fairfax Costco is always crazy and crowded. Even at 10am on a Tuesday there are no available parking spots. The lines often stretch halfway back the store. I just don't think that it is worth the hassle to get a bargain.

I hate going to this store. It is usually really crowded. It is hard to get around. The prices are good. They have a great selection but it is too hard to get around with a buggy. I would not recommend to go with your children if you do go.
