Drexel Theatre

The Drexel truely stands out from the rest. They have great selection of movies (Independent Films) that most other theaters wont show. They dont over price, and their staff is very nice. The seating is not really "stadium seating" but the view is still not bad, the seats are comfortable.

The Drexel Movie theater is an old theater that shows what I like to call artsy fartsy movies. It is small and quaint and reminds you of something that you would find in a really big city like New York. The decor is really nice and appears to have some of the original fixtures. They usually feature three movies at a time and offer both matinees and regular showings.

This si the best place to go to see the award winners and hard to find gems. They show the best movies here, and thier prices are a lot less than other theatres. My wife and I went for an Oscar party where they showed it on the big screen, and it was really fun. The cafe next door is good too. A great value for the money.

The Drexels are Columbus's only theaters for independent films. They show the best movies, especially if you are into more than the overrated Hollywood Blockbusters. They often show films that are usually limited to NY and LA. A little bit of art and culture in Columbus.

This location in Bexley is my favorite (Graeters after the movie!), but I also like the one in Grandview. I haven't been to the new location near campus yet. I suggest going on Mondays - tickets are only $5 all day.

The Drexel only shows independent films so you get a different crowd here than at an AMC theater. It is smaller but has its place. It is right on Main St. so you can go to a cafe for coffee afterwards. Their prices aren't bad and the staff is friendly.

The Drexel is the best place in Columbus to catch an independent movie. Without them, Columbus residents would likely miss many great independent films. The theater gives you that retro film noir feel when you walk in. Though it is lacking in stadium seating, I have yet to have a bad seat.

Perhaps the best part of the whole experience is the audience that patronizes the Drexel. Unlike moveigoers at AMC, who are rude and talk constantly during movies, the moviegoers at the Drexel always respect the unspoken rules of movie watching - don't talk during the movie, turn off your cell phone, and don't disturb your neighbor. It's one of the main reasons I go to the Drexel (and one of main reasons I avoid chains like AMC).

This is a great little theatre to see independant movies, movies you can't see at any of the major theatres. Somestimes there are film festivals which you can is multiple movies for a very decent price.

The Drexel here is located in beautiful Bexley. This is another great "night out on the town" opportunity. They are always showing at least a few movies, and the signal to noise ratio at an independent movie theatre such as this one is decidedly better than that at a typical Hollywood blockbuster sort of place. The staff here is great and really seems to care about what they're doing.

The Drexel is a great home for independent and hard-to-find first run movies. It is one of a dying breed of old theatres playing quality independent films. Help keep it alive!
