1 Stars: Unethical Company! (by Sadam H.)

THE MOST UNETHICAL COMPANY I HAVE EVER DELT WITH! After setting up automatic oil filling over the phone, it seemed that the oil price was unusually high. They had been charging 30-40% more any other oil company! When I made the call to cancel service with them, they told me I was under contract and had to pay a $199 fee for them to stop delivering over priced oil to my home! I explained that I had never signed a contract with them, and they replied that a contract had been sent by mail. The fact that I never seen this piece of mail didnt seem to bother them. I was told that I couldnt cancel with them until after May 1st. On there web site I found this:

"THESE TERMS BECOME EFFECTIVE, AND YOU ACCEPT AND AGREE TO THESE TERMS, BY EITHER RECEIVING OR PAYING FOR OIL USING YOUR ACCOUNT OR BY NOT CLOSING YOUR ACCOUNT WITHIN THIRTY DAYS OF RECEIPT OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS."

So buy paying your bill you are to agreeing to whatever term and conditions they can come up with!!!!! I also found more about there cancellation period on there website:

"If you call us to terminate automatic delivery at a time outside of a May 1 to May 15 Open Enrollment Period, the termination may be subject to an early termination fee for each fuel tank for which delivery service is terminated early."

THERE ARE ONLY TWO WEEKS PER YEAR THAT YOU CAN CANCELL YOUR ACCOUNT AND NOT PAY A $199 FEE!!!??? This company should be ashamed of what they are doing to people.

1 Stars: Burns & McBride Mart Oil (by John J.)

Horrid business practice by this company. Does not disclose details about how they charge your bank account 120% of the anticipated delivery amount (that they come up with) up to a week before a delivery, and they hold YOUR funds ( not their money ) for up to 2 weeks AFTER an oil delivery. Not to mention, they did this to me 2 weeks after my first delivery. I barely used any oil and they wanted to come back !I didn't feel anything but ripped off by their practices, and I only had ONE oil delivery..I'd recommend you reading the fine print, but keep in mind, they think they have you ' under contract' just from your original phone call without the ability to read any fine print.. Shady.. VERY shady business practice..After they attached my bank account for over $750.00, (actual delivery was under $400.00) and I called and cancelled, they now say I owe them a $199.00 'early cancellation fee'.. How convenient for them ! eh ? Not something mentioned when you call in as a new customer..Also, their contract speaks repeatedly how they have 'call in' delivery service. Its even on their website..Did I mention they 'don't offer that type of service'. They tell you that when they are asking for their $199.00, but will give you paperwork saying otherwise.. Yep, conveniently choose what part of their contract is correct and/or unavailable, they will... You are a sucker to get roped into this company.. GOOD LUCK !

4 Stars: heating and air (by Andi M.)

We had a new heating/air conditioning system installed last summer. They were timely and polite in our home. When it was determined that what was installed was not large enough for our home, they fixed it promptly with no additional cost.

3 Stars: Home Heating without a Hassle (by Janel A.)

This home heating company has repeatedly served us well. They come out and deliver oil without our needing to contact them. Their prices, while not great, seem to be fair market value. No problem at all with them, and the customer service reps I've spoken with are very friendly.
