3 Stars: Overhyped, but still good products (by daniele l.)

L'Occitane does make nice bath & body products, but I find them horribly over-prices, over-hyped, and over-packaged. The lotions & potions work well, but don't have any clear differentiating factor other than the label.

PROS: Good smells and nice textures
CONS: Overhyped

4 Stars: French fragance and soaps (by kathleen l.)

L'Occitane is not an inexpensive option but is by far one of my top choices for soaps and fragrance. Their liquid soaps are lightly scented and have a rich lather while their candles are long lasting and lightly perfume an area. The scents are all fresh and range fromorange to Vervain, to almond. No heavy scents, just extreme quality. An investment but well worth the cost for gifts or yourself.

PROS: quality, selection
CONS: parking, cost

4 Stars: Quality (by Annie P.)

Quality premium French products are the signature of this deluxe bath and beauty chain. Compared to other chain stores in the same vein, such as Bath and Body Works or the Body Shop, L'Occitane offers far and away the most delicious high-quality perfumes and soaps at fairly reasonable prices. It's certainly not cheap. A perfume costs over $20, but their Miel (or honey-scented) and Vervaine products are all worth the extra change. It's also an ideal place to shop for gifts for friends.
