4 Stars: Puppy Heaven (by Melissa U.)

This is the best pet shop that I have ever been too. They sell all types of animals ranging from fish to puppies. Their are open dog cages with about 50 dogs in the back of the store. You can go over to the dogs and pet them or hold them. There is also a room with birds sitting on open pirches. The shop is great.

PROS: Puppies in open cages, variety of animals.
CONS: Expensive

4 Stars: Large pet store with varied selection (by Stacey J.)

Very large store with a huge selection. So much to choose from, ranging from low to high prices and small to big animals. Lots of friendly staff on site, and they are willing to help make you knowledgable with caring for your animals. Can be a bit expensive on certain things, but it's well worth it... I believe they guarantee the health of the pets they sell, too. Very helpful with the fish/aquarium section, and such large tanks to choose from too!

4 Stars: Pet Paradise in NJ! (by Lisa H.)

One of the largets pet stores I have ever been to, so much fun to walk around! The staff are all great and very knowledgable. But they will also let you browse and spend time looking at and playing with the animals. They have a huge selection of pets from mice, to rats, to birds to fish, to cats to dogs! If they don't have what you're looking for, special orders are welcome. I especially love taking my son to look at the furry critters.

4 Stars: You could spend hours in this store! (by Nancy K.)

This is by far the biggest pet store I have ever been to--it's over 9,000 square feet! The friendly staff will assist you if you have any questions, or want to purchase a pet or pet supplies, but they will also let you browse and spend time looking at and playing with the animals without hassling you. They have a huge selection of pet possibilities, from the smallest reptile to the largest dog. If they don't have what you're looking for, special orders are welcome. I especially love taking the kids in here. It's a fun experience! I really love how the puppies' cages are kept out in the open, so that you can see them and touch them. They also have small rooms where you can take a puppy to spend time with it if you are considering buying one. This gives you the chance to learn about the puppy's personality, disposition, etc...basically, to fall in love with it and bond.

I have never seen any sick animals in this store, the way you sometimes do in a pet store. They guarantee the health of your animals here, and that's important.

If you are considering buying a pet, or if you already have a pet and need to buy supplies, stop here.

PROS: huge store, friendly staff, great selection of animals and animals' needs
CONS: Sometimes the area with the puppies gets a little smelly

5 Stars: yellow lab (by Dana S.)

I have never answered any of these complaints but this one needs to be addresses. This puppy was examined by 3 separate vets before the puppy was sold. Unfortunately,it is cold and flu season and any living breathing thing can get sick. A puppy is no exception. This puppy came down with pneumonia. When the customers contacted us we told them that they could return the dog and we would take care of the puppy for them. Their response was that we would kill it. How ironic that they euthenized this puppy and not for pnemonia. We have asked for the doctors notes on 5 seperate occassions, 3 being from our attorney and they refuse to give them to us. They did tell us that "$6500 would make this all go away". He even told our attorney the same thing. My attorney called it blackmail and now we are going to let a Judge decide. We love our puppies and care about them the same as we do our children. We even have 6 of our own.

1 Stars: Make sure they don't re-open elsewhere (by Jo i.)

Find out the names of the pet store owners and watch the papers
carefully. The way they work is they just apply for a new business
name and open up a new filthy store. Find those last names Dana and Joe
easily found with google and go to any hearings to fight their re-opening.

3 Stars: Huge selection (by Maxim C.)

This pet store is huge - it is located on Rt. 9 where a nursery used to be and they fill the space with a large selection of pet supplies and actual pets. I would never buy a puppy from a store but if there is an item you need for your pet you can be sure they will have something to meet both your and your pet's needs.

5 Stars: Bought 3 puppies over past 1 1/2 years from Pet Paradise (by Donna P.)

Even though I do believe it is great to adopt a dog from a shelter, there is nothing wrong with buying a puppy from P.P. and saving it by getting it out of its cage so it can have a home and begin to smell the flowers. The staff at P.P. are very friendly, knowledgeable and care a great deal about the animals. Anyone who can write a bad review about Dana or Jen are just making up this bad stuff about them. I am a psychotherapist and bought a German Shepard from P.P over a year ago. He is now certified with the Good Canine Citizen award and is a gorgeous 18mth old now (Jack loves revisiting P.P.) Last week after my Bassett Hound died at age 14 I went back To P.P. after looking in the local shelters. After some careful thinking about what kind of puppy would fit best into my home with me and Jack (my Shepard) I decided on a very cute, 3 month old yellow lab. I call her Gemini because her bday is in June. Jen-the puppy manager sold me Gemini and she is not only well informed on all kinds of puppies but also goes out of her way to make sure the customer is happy with their puppy and the choice the customer makes. Jen feels like a friend by the end of the process and is very likeable. I couldn't believe the negative reviews about Dana. They are probably written by people who wouldn't make good pet owners and P.P. is careful who they sell their puppies too. They protect the puppies in any way they can. And not everyone should own a puppy or any pet because some people, as I know, are just plain nuts. So people take it out on Dana since she is the owner but with her job responsiblilty not everyone will like her becasue at times she has to be assertive and stand up for the puppies rights. Dana (and her husband) personally go to breeders to pick out the puppies she thinks the customers will like. (you can also request the kind of puppy you want and they go to their breeders and can hand select a few or the entire litter for customers.) So this is NOT a puppy mill. Some, most puppy stores are and I'm againest puppy mills but this truly isnt. So to everyone who can't seem to find a puppy or dog at your shelter then give P.P. a try. They also have a lot of guarentees when you do purchase the pup. My mother and I also went about a week ago to P.P. and since our Bassett passed away mom bought an adorable, 3 month old puppy Bassett Hound and calls him the Mask of Zorro because of his great markings. I am pleased and strongly recommend just checking this place out for yourself before listening to any negative review. You would be cheating yourself if you don't at least visit and judge for yourself. So now I havw Jack, Gemini and my mother has Zorro and today they all played together in my backyard. I couldn't be happier :)

3 Stars: Lots Of Animals and supplies! (by joey a.)

This store has a full line of supplies for all types of animals. They also have tons of live animals to look at. The place smells awful, but I guess that comes with the territory. Also the prices are very very high for their puppies.

2 Stars: Clean up guys! (by praveen k.)

Maybe I walked in on the wrong day and they actually do a great job, but here are some things :
- they have incense sticks burning all over the store!! if pets are taken care of properly, they never stink!! That set off alarm bells.
- still walked around. Most of the reptariums were dirty. Clean them up guys.
- Walked into the fish section. Walked right out!! It smelled like a butcher shop or a fish market! foul smell of raw meat!

I go to petstores every weekend and sorry to say, this was a bad experience!

1 Stars: Finally! (by manny m.)

I thank the sweet lord that all the suffering that was endured by the dogs in the nasty store is over, Pet Paradise is now closed! I have a dog from there, who has been fighting health issues since we got her. Im excited to know that people weren't stupid enough to help support that terrible buisness. Pet Paradise got its puppies from puppy mills, like every single other pet store. Why would a legit breeder want to sell their "beloved" puppies to a store where they'll be cramped in cages and sold to people they don't even know? Karma sucks, doesn't it Dana?

5 Stars: Love The Store! (by ileen s.)

I have gotten 6 or more pets from this store and love every one of them. If the puppy had a cold they gave me medication for it. I recommend this pet store to everyone i know.

4 Stars: Huge pet store (by Rose S.)

I shop at Pet Paradise any time I'm in the area just because I love looking around the store. It's huge and they have everything for any kind of pet. My husband gets annoyed because I tell him I want to stop there to pick up a couple of supplies for my new kittens but then I end up spending hours in there. I love looking at all the animals and my kids do too. The people who work there seem to really care about the animals and know a lot about them, unlike another pet store I visited where they told a customer you could keep two male bettas in the same tank! They won't give you bad advice here. It's very clean also.
