There are a string of complaints about Hotel.com on the internet. They are owned by Expedia, so I would warn anyone to be wary about using either.
We have experienced the same issues reported by others, having waited 4 months for a cancellation refund that they agreed and fell within their terms and conditions.
We have documented every time we have rung them. Their policy seems to be 1) leave people holding on in the hope they will hang up. 2. If they do not hang up, tell them the money is being credited to their card and will be on the next statement. 3. They tell you, you will receive a confirmation email. Nothing ever materialises.
PROS: When you add all the complaints together. None
CONS: Do not expect any customer service once they have your money.
