5 Stars: Go to Stow Lake! (by Stacy M.)

If you ever have a free afternoon follow the signs to Stow Lake. They rent paddle boats and row boats and you can rent bicycles there, too. Bicycles built for two, these low-rider tricycle type bikes... Lots of fun! Beautiful park!!!

PROS: Cute lake, great place to take a date! Romantic setting.
CONS:

This is where we bbq during Eid. You can also walk the vast space of the park and you can see some sciences and the very national anthem. I really like it here because there are lotsa trees and makes me cooler. Parking is found around the area.

4 Stars: Golden Gate Park (by Leaping L.)

I love Golden Gate Park! It is one of the reasons I love San Francisco so much. This park is the biggest park I can think of. It is usually pretty chilly here but that's not necessarily bad, especially if you want to get away from the San Jose heat. You can go hiking here, biking, jogging, roller blading, etc. and have a great time!

5 Stars: park...in a city (by Elaine Z.)

Pretty cool isnt it. I just love the whole idea of a park being right in the middle of a huge city like San Francisco. This is a huge park. Its great for hiking, and bike ridinf, pickniking on sunny days, just walking around, or sight seeing. Whenever I think Golden Gate Park I think "Japanese Tea." One of the main attractions of the park is the Japanese Tea garden. You can sit down and have some really nicely dressed waitresses bring you your tea. I wouldnt say that the tea is special, its just normal tea, the experience is what counts. Then you walk around in the japanese miniature garden. Its really a lot of fun. Overall great park.

5 Stars: Really, really good place to meet nice people! (by Raoul S.)

Nice place to run, and run, and keep running to forget everything!

There is a choice of pavement, dirt on the upper level, or even more dirt on the secluded side a little higher up. I picked the secluded dirt track and found it pretty a enjoyable place. They have wooden stretching bars to help you stretch.

Really, really good place to meet nice people!

5 Stars: Stroll, Walk, Nap, Relax (by Annie P.)

Golden Gate Park is one of the city's most beautiful attractions. For out-of-town visitors or longterm residents, the park is large enough to accomodate everyone and constantly yields surprises, trees to nap under, fields, and concerts. The Rose Garden, the Japanese Tea Garden, and the recently restored Arboretum are just a few of the highlights of this local treasure.

PROS: natural beauty
CONS:

5 Stars: A park like no other (by Molly B.)

This park is really in a league of it's own. If you are visiting the city there is just so much to it that there is no way that one day is enough time to spend here. I love the tea gardens, the bike trails, and of course the buffalo! How often do you see buffalo in a big city? On a nice day this is a great place for a picnic, bike ride, or even just a walk. What a wonderful resource for San Francisco to have!

5 Stars: very nice (by Annie C.)

golden gate is a very nice place to walk, jog, play with your children, picnic, or have a barbeque. Full of trees and open space, you can relax and read a book on a sunny day or hang out with your friends. There is a childrens playground that has a carousel and many many slides and monkey bars. Golden gate park is great for adults and children.

5 Stars: Golden Gate Park (by Angelica Y.)

One of the largest parks here in the Bay Area. They have the most attractions in park than any other park in the Bay Area too. Its a great place to visit because you can also take public transportation to get to it. There are lakes, waterfalls, japanese garden, and other places that I haven't even visited yet.

4 Stars: calm and peaceful (by Colleen T.)

With so much space, it's easy to find a calm and peaceful atmosphere to enjoy the day. Pack a picnic and you'll find yourself enjoying the beautiful green scenery.

If you're up for something more active, there is a number of things available. For example, check out the Japanese Tea Garden or go paddle boating!

Can be a bit breezy so dress accordingly or at least bring a jacket.

5 Stars: Golden gate park (by Olggie Z.)

This is a really nice place if you want to rest your eyes from the busyiness of a big city (San Francisco.) This place is huge so you can eaily get deep enough so you dont have to see any cars, and stores, any chaos. Theres little museum type things which can be fun to visit. There are many birds and animals. You can just go for a stroll or it is very common place to see bike riders. Its a really good place to relax and since it is so big there is room for everyone to be comfortable.

5 Stars: Better than Central Park! (by M N.)

The Golden Gate Park is one of loveliest public parks within a metropolis that you will find in the nation. It is really just beautiful with myriads of different speciies of flowers, vegetation, and huge tall trees. I think they're redwoods. There's lots more to offer than just being a great place for a jog or stroll. I haven't seen all of it yet, but every picnic there has been a blast.

4 Stars: A good day of fun (by David H.)

Maybe if I was asked 10 years ago I would have rated this a five, but currently a number of exhibits are moved and/or under construction. Still, there is plenty of well known sites to see, such as the Japanese Tea Garden and Hall of Flowers. But beyond that, the park is a luscious camping ground that has plenty of forestry and man-made little lakes. You can rent electrical or manual peddle carts to go around, but my favorite is the paddle boats that you can take around a small lake and see the little waterfalls and pagoda. The park can be huge, so you can easily lose yourself if you're not careful.
