Dr. Margaret Burns

I have been a patient of Dr. Burns' for years now and came to her from one of those prestigious Park Avenue practices. Yes, her waiting room may look like the living room of a senior citizen and her staff may not be warm and fuzzy at all times, but Dr. Burns takes her time listening to your concerns and does not just give you a quick fix (some pharmaceutical sample), but gets to the root cause of your problems.Well, in my books that's a very good GP.

dr burns is very nice and takes a lot of time with you, but her office is so disorganized and the receptionist and answering service so rude and awful that after 10 years i'm switching primary care physicians. there is endless attitude from both of her staff. she knows it and does nothing about it. i don't need to beg a snotty receptionist for my blood test results. there are plenty of doctors in nyc.

This doctor talked a lot more about Lyme disease when we first met than my medical history. The office is kind of dingy, the receptionist seems disorganized, and they drew blood but did not do the tests I requested. Why? Whoops, nobody knew I wanted those tests. Like i said, I had requested them and the Dr. said OK. Nothing like feeling like a number. Then I called up recently to ask about a problem I was experiencing and the receptionist preferred to diagnose me herself rather than put me in touch with the Dr. This happened twice before my mom finally figured out the cause of my problem. If I'd waited for Burnsie to respond, I might be in the hospital by now.
