Chipotle

I first discovered Chipotle when I won a free dinner from KOHL back when they first opened this location on Mowry. I've been a loyal customer ever since. The food is superb, and the manager and staff are very helpful and friendly. It is a fun place to be and hang out.

The previous reviewer mentioned how the staff can rush you along sometimes. This is true when it is very busy. They are working so quickly to keep the line moving that they hardly talk to you, but it's understandable when the store so busy.

Like the other reviewers, I also love the simplicity of the menu. It's like going to a Subway, they make it down the line as you order it. First you choose what kind of food you want, burrito, salad, tacos (soft or hard), fajita, or burrito bowl. Then you choose your meat, and add ons like salsa, cheese and sour cream. But if you want something that's not on the menu they are flexible too. I asked if they could make nachos before and they made them.

So...the food is a little Americanized. It's still tasty. This place has a very simple menu, you start at one end and your order is complete (nearly), by the time you reach the register. The difficulty is in going there on a busy night. It's loud in there, and trying to convey my choices to the person on the other side wasn't easy. Never mind that he pretty much only heard yes or no, didn't care that I said, 'only a little'. Also, when they're in a hurry, it pretty much doesn't matter how they throw the food into the tortilla, you might end up with a sectional burrito, each bite will be something different. Mmmm, a bite of tortilla and sour cream only. They're salsas are tasty, they do have a vegetarian alternative, they sell beer. Try to visit in the middle of the week, or in the middle of the afternoon on a weekend. You might as well get it to go, because the chairs aren't meant to be sat in long. They're hard and uncomfortable. The decor is interesting, espeically the photography on the walls.

PROS: Good prices; tasty salsas
CONS: They need to work on their service.

Sure, there are some good mexican places in Fremont, some probably more "Mexican" than Chipotle, but I like Chipotle the best. Why? First of all, the menu is easy to choose from, 4 meats or vegetarian, then you choose from 4 types of wraps. Simple. Restaurant design is nice, and overall atmosphere is great to hang out.
