Just got back from a weekend getaway with the wife and 2 boys. It was an absolute blast. We went aboard the Miss Islamorada and everybody caught a few fish. We didn't catch anything real big, but had 10 snappers between all of us, which was just the right amount to take to dinner at the restaurant just north, The Lazy Days? Anyhow they cooked it up and put it on a big platter which was great. We Did a 1/2 day deep sea fishing trip the next day and my Wife caught and released her first sailfish! She beat me and the boys to the rod : ( We also caught 5 king mackerel and then a nice barracuda to finish the Day! My oldest boy was so happy! We are definitely going to be back! The all day trip was great for the money, only $65, but the private 1/2 day charter was much better and a first class experience. If you can afford it I definitely recommend a private charter, but if not you'll still enjoy the Miss Islamorada!

Went fishing on Miss Islamorada 8/26/2011, The crew of two Captain and first mate catered to two family members the entire day. Nine out of the eleven caught bait for the two family members. The crew kept or killed everything that was caught and used under sized yellow tail snapper for bait Nine of us used # 1 hooks as the family members had # 7 and fished off the back of the boat with a fighting belt. We were never given the required Coast Guard briefing on safety or where the life jackets were kept
worst fishing in 42 years of fishing.

Last Wednesday on the full day trip from 9:30 to 4:30, we bagged 8 yellowtail for each of us (4 in our party)! We also caught some mangrove snappers, and even a nice black grouper! It was a great day for only $60! Anybody that likes fishing would love this trip, very good deal for the price!

When we booked our trip we were told that we would begin on the side of the boat and rotate positions throughout the day. No rotation of positions occured.
It was a very disappointing day while we watched a select few on the back of the boat catch yellow tail snapper on a regular basis while we caught very, very few edible fish.
I did complain and was given a canned comment of, "We're sorry about that." They might as well have said, "Congratulations, you've just been screwed out of $60 and a day."

Islamorada is a series of Keys, and you will find Bud N' Mary's close to the end of it on the ocean side of the road.

So what is Bud N' Mary's, anyway? Well.. it's a lot of things. According to Bud, they have over 40 of the finest offshore captains and backcountry guides to be found anywhere in the world. I don't know how true that is.. I mean, the world? I don't really doubt it though. I do know for sure that they are fun and knowledgable. This place has been around since 1944 so that's plenty of time to have recruited some of the best, certainly.

Here you can charter a boat for yourself, a large group, a corporate get-together, or even just a flamily outing. They have 44 boats to choose from. Bud's is eager to please and will bend over to do just that.

If you don't feel like arranging a private charter, you can get on the Miss Islamorada at 9:30AM any day of the week and fish until 4:30PM for $50 per person. Miss Islamorada is a 65' party boat complete with air conditioning. Forgot to get a fishing license? No problemo, one is included in your 50 bucks, along with fillet bags, bait & tackle, and a cooler with ice... not to mention the helpful advice of the on-board experts. They'll even fillet your fish for you.

Want to just take off on your own and cruise the ocean? Fine, they'll rent you a boat too. Boat rental runs from $160 per day to $220 per day depending on what size boat you want.

Want to get wet and hang with the sea life? Go for it. You can arrange diving and snorkeling excursions here too. OR even if you just want tamer fishing than the wide open ocean, you can go on a backcountry trip and fish the everglades, or the gulf side of the island.

They even have nice rooms available starting at around $95 per night complete with kitchenettes.
.

PROS: Nice rooms, lots to do
CONS: They could use a full service restaurant..
