Bishop's Attic is an Anchorage treasure! Their thrift shop has given us so many scores, from popcorn makers and camping gear to summer wardrobes and vintage Kids' VHS at a nickel apiece. Their sales are worth paying attention to, such as "all ladies pants, five pair for a dollar!" spectacular. I also like knowing that their proceeds go directly into our community; donation pickup service is reliable and courteous, too.

This is a great thrift store to spend a couple of hours in. They have really good sales on certain colored tags and LOTS of cheap furniture and baby supplies. I LOVE the book sales. You can find almost any title you are looking for and I think regular price is 4 for $1. They also have a pretty good selection of old albums for less than a buck. I've also picked up pre-recorded movies for pennies. They are staffed by some really sweet ladies (and men) who are always willing to help you find your hearts desire.

The racks are organized to a degree, the items are in good shape, but the prices are not to be believed! This out of the way thrift shop is a treasure trove during sale times! They have a "all the books you can fit in a bag" sale for $1 and clothing sales when the clothes are 3 for $1. We bought a bread maker there for $8 and it is still going strong. The sales people are super friendly and very helpful.

I've been going to Bishop's Attic since the late 90's, have lived in trhe "hood" for many years. Best thrift prices in town as far as I can tell.I LOVE looking for books here, if you get there during or after the "book lady" has been puttring out books you can really score. I've also found some nice "knicknacks" here, I like collecxting coin banks, keep an eye out, also scored a great framed & glassed print of a Monet at half price the other day...Their sales are wonderful & regular. The staff is usually prettty busy but helpful.

Pros: Great sales, wonderful book prices

Cons: Crowded, can be hard to look at books...
