I was very impressed by the environment the spa has to offer. I received a gift certificate for a massage. However, I was worried that its location in the Riverchase Galleria would provide for a noisy hustled environment. Once I arrived, I was escorted away from the busy mall into a quiet and relaxing room. My masseuse was very responsive when I was asking her to adjust her pressure. I was extremely relaxed by the end of the session. Although I had to exit through the busy Galleria, it didn't phase me as I left.
The prices were reasonable also.
PROS: Relaxing and excellent prices
CONS: Located in the unrelaxing Galleria

Guys - if you are in the dog house or if you want to treat your special lady to a very special gift just send her here. I have purchased gift certificates for pedicures and massages for my wife from Spa Japonika on several occasions. She has thoroughly enjoyed her visits there. Located in the Riverchase Galleria. Full service hair salon, facials, massage, pedicure, manicure, etc.

Spa Japonika is the most amazing spa in Birmingham! They offer a wide variety of services ranging from a haircut, to a manicure and facial, to a hot rock or deep tissue massage. The prices are fairly reasonable and it doesn't hurt that it is located within the Riverchase Galleria! The staff is very knowledged in their area, and all are certified in their field. The salon carries and uses only Aveda products, which they have available for sale in their store! Prices are moderate, but are definately worth the services that you'll recieve! I can not wait to go back!
