Ratings_icons Repsonse from the owner/administrator of Brentwood Retirement Community

Tim R.

I reply to the negative comments of "Anonymous" and "Pat R."

There are planned activities in the morning and afternoon.
Any discharges from the facility are carried out in accordance with regulations of the State of Alabama Department of Public Health.
Since smoking is not allowed within the facility, those residents who do smoke are allowed to do so under direct supervision of staff.
This requires the resident to smoke outside on the porch. It is unfair to imply that the only thing my very caring staff does is sit outside and smoke. This staff works very hard.
The state of Alabama allows a maximum number of hours between the supper meal and the breakfast meal. We must comply with this serving requirements.
It is difficult to please everyone especially when the discharge of residents is involved. The discharge of any resident sometimes results in the family members becoming upset and angry. The discharge of a resident is a traumatic time for the resident, family, and staff. Nevertheless, I must comply with regulatory requirements.
I have been in the elder care business for many years. I invite the public to inquire closely to form an opinion beyond that of these two unhappy persons. Do not be misled by their "slick talk"
Pat R. and Anonymous may feel free to contact me for further discussion.

Ratings_icons Loved Ones Beware!

Anonymous

If you're placing your mom or dad in this community, please be aware that you may receive a phone call at any point saying that your loved one is being immediately released. Always have Plan B ready. We only saw a few activities. The biggest activity was the nurses smoking with patients on the front porch. The night shift is responsible for getting everyone dressed and ready for breakfast. Therefore, all these elderly people must be dressed for the day by 7am. The rest of the day they must sit in the common area and watch TV Land. The physical environment is beautiful but don't believe a word that comes out of the owner's mouth. Be careful. We read the reviews that he was a "Slick Talker" and decided to trust him. What a mistake!!!

Ratings_icons Owner is a Slick Talker

Pat R.

No activities, very rigid schedule must be adhered to by residents, bathing assistance seems non-existent, non-flexible and difficult despite the up front promises and glory - look beyond the pretty picture that is painted
